Featuring an 8-inch wine-glass body, the 200-EXT utilizes a recirculating design, meaning the VarioS-4S DC pump focuses exclusively on shredding air and water within the body, while a separate feed pump (sold separately) dictates the flow-through rate. This allows for absolute control over contact time, leading to superior organic waste removal.

CoralVue, Inc. and Reef Octopus hereby guarantee this product to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of:
- Five (5) year warranty on pump body/housing
- Three (3) year warranty on Reef Octopus-branded controller
- One (1) year warranty on Power Supply, Impeller (and components), Rotor, Rear Bushing, and Gaskets
Warranty is activated on the date of purchase.
This Standard Limited Warranty applies and is limited as follows:
- To the product only as long as it remains in the possession of the original purchaser.
- To the product that has not been subject to accident, misuse or abuse.
- To the product that has not been modified, altered, defaced, or had repairs made or attempted by other than CoralVue, Inc.
- That CoralVue be immediately notified in writing within ten (10) days of first knowledge of defect by owner or his agent.
- That CoralVue, Inc. shall be given first opportunity to make any repairs, replacements or corrections to the defective construction within a reasonable period of time.
- Under no circumstances shall CoralVue and/or the Manufacturer be liable by virtue of this warranty or otherwise for damage to any person or property whatsoever for any special, indirect, secondary or consequential damages of any nature however arising out of the use or inability to use because of the product defect.
Instructions:
- Assemble the skimmer body and ensure all plumbing connections and O-rings are secure for external use.
- Install the Regal 200-EXT on a level surface (either inside or outside the sump).
- Connect a dedicated feed pump (not included) to the 20mm intake.
- Plug the VarioS-4S pump and float switch into the controller.
- Open the gate valve fully and start the feed pump first, followed by the VarioS-4S pump.
- Adjust the gate valve until the internal water level is at the base of the neck.
- Monitor for any leaks at the union connections during the first 24 hours of operation.
Pro Tips:
- Independent Feed Control. Because this is a recirculating skimmer, you can use a small manifold or a dedicated pump (like a VarioS-2) to feed the unit. Lower feed rates increase the dwell time inside the skimmer, often resulting in darker, more concentrated skimmate.
- Metric Plumbing Integration. The Regal 200-EXT utilizes 40mm Metric output and 20mm Metric input fittings. If you are hard-plumbing an external installation, we strongly recommend using Metric Union Couplings to ensure the skimmer can be easily disconnected for annual maintenance.
- External Leak Protection. While the float switch prevents cup overflows, we always recommend placing external skimmers inside a secondary containment tray or near a floor drain for maximum peace of mind in high-volume systems.
