    • 100% Genuine OEM Factory Part: Manufactured directly by IceCap as an exact structural diameter match for a leak-free compression fit.
    • Universal Catalog Synchronization: Fits perfectly across all wattage classes of the IceCap In-Sump (IC-UVR) and External Inline (IC-HOUV) sterilizer families.
    • High-Density Chemical-Inert Polymer: Formulated from highly dense, saltwater-safe rubber that entirely resists rotting, ozone degradation, and flattening under pressure.
    • Day-One Pressure Restoration: Replacing a compressed, brittle, or cracked factory flat seal instantly re-establishes a stable pressure envelope.
    • Essential Maintenance Component: Serves as a primary fail-safe barrier to prevent raw saltwater loops from traveling up into the dry quartz sleeve environment.

IceCap High-Output UV Sterilizer Replacement Flat Seal (SKU: IP-UV-FRING)

The IceCap High-Output UV Sterilizer Replacement Flat Seal (SKU: IP-UV-FRING) is an authentic structural OEM replacement gasket distributed by CoralVue to preserve watertight housing safety and protect internal electrical paths. Ultraviolet clarification operates under persistent system flow, driving water under active pressure around a clear quartz sleeve containing a high-heat germicidal bulb. Because the integrity of the dry lamp chamber depends entirely on mechanical compression seals, the rubber components at the vessel joints are critical. Over years of operation, non-stop pressure, heat cycles from the lamp, and exposure to corrosive marine salt air can dry out the factory rubber—causing it to warp, crack, harden, or rot. Replacing a compressed gasket with this fresh original factory flat seal completely neutralizes bypass leaks.

Engineered to meet tight manufacturing thresholds, this structural component sits as Part 11 in the master engineering layout. It is custom-contoured to lock the quartz sleeve assembly securely onto the primary IceCap UV Casing Vessel. Unlike generic multi-purpose hardware store washers that degrade under intensive UVC rays, the IP-UV-FRING features a UV-inert elastomer matrix built to maintain its elasticity over years of service. Swapping out this gasket during your annual bulb refresh gives you true peace of mind, knowing your facility is safe from slow, creeping trace leaks.

    Key Features

    • Prevents Disastrous Electrical Short-Circuits: Blocks raw pressurized saltwater loops from cutting into the dry core, keeping your ballast safe.

    • Eliminates High-Pressure Cross-Threading: Supple material compresses smoothly under hand-tightening force, letting the locking collar seat straight without chewing up plastic metric threads.

    • Tool-Free Pressure Seating: Pours cleanly into the designated vessel flange path without adhesive glues or chemical bonding compounds.

    • (Note: This retail SKU contains (1) standalone replacement flat seal. Clear quartz glass sleeves, blue rubber sleeve seals, high-output lamps, external vessel bodies, and power ballasts are sold under separate product categories).

    What’s Included:

    • (1) IceCap Replacement High-Output UV Sterilizer Vessel Flat Seal Gasket

    1. Unplug the main power supply ballast from your wall outlet. Shut down your dedicated feed pump loop and drain the water column inside the UV housing.
    2. Unthread the upper cord-lock cap, carefully draw the high-output lamp out of the dry core, and lay the bulb down on a soft towel.
    3. Unthread the master compression quartz sleeve housing nut holding the top flange of the glass tube down against the internal vessel framework. Carefully lift the quartz sleeve out.
    4. Locate the spent, worn, or flattened flat seal sitting inside the upper neck track of the vessel mouth. Remove it and wipe the channel clean with a warm vinegar rag to clear out any salt crust or organic scale.
    5. Take your fresh IP-UV-FRING flat seal out of its packaging sleeve and set it completely level inside the recessed tracking groove of the vessel mouth.
    6. Re-insert your quartz sleeve assembly straight down over the flat seal. Thread the housing compression nut clockwise entirely by hand until tight. Run a brief manual leak test with active water flow prior to re-inserting the live bulb and restoring ballast power.

    Pro Tips:

    • Never Use Pliers or Metal Pipe Wrenches to Force the Seating Nut Tight. When locking your quartz sleeve assembly down over your fresh IP-UV-FRING flat seal, always thread and tighten the plastic tracking collar entirely by hand. Never use household pliers, channel locks, or pipe wrenches. The high brute-force torque from a metal tool will over-compress the new rubber ring—causing it to split, tear, or slip out of its groove. This ruins the gasket and creates an immediate water leak directly over your electronics.
    • Lightly Lubricate the Gasket with Reef-Safe Silicone Grease to Stop Rolls. To ensure your new flat seal forms an absolute watertight lock that will last for years, take a brief moment during reassembly to lightly coat the rubber ring with a thin layer of pure, reef-safe silicone grease. Trying to compress a dry rubber gasket inside a dry plastic tracking channel can cause the rubber to friction-bind, twist, or pinch. A pinched or rolled flat seal creates a microscopic gap that will cause a slow water leak into your dry sleeve, shorting out your system and tripping your home GFCI breakers.
    • Always Replace the Flat Seal and the Blue Sleeve Gaskets Simultaneously. To maintain reliable performance and protect your equipment out-of-sump, always treat your soft hardware seals as consumable items. Every time you change your UV bulb (roughly every 10,000 hours or 12 months), you should swap out the Vessel Flat Seal and the Quartz Sleeve Blue Rubber Gaskets at the same time. Rubber aging is a chemical process that happens invisibly; replacing these inexpensive seals alongside your regular bulb maintenance prevents surprise floods and keeps your system working like new.
