Every skimmer has a "sweet spot" within a specific water level where the venturi can pull air most efficiently. If a skimmer sits too deep, it may overflow; too shallow, and it won't collect waste. The ST-1 allows you to fine-tune this height to ensure peak performance and consistent skimmate production.

This Standard Limited Warranty applies and is limited as follows:
- To the product only as long as it remains in the possession of the original purchaser.
- To the product that has not been subject to accident, misuse or abuse.
- To the product that has not been modified, altered, defaced, or had repairs made or attempted by other than CoralVue, Inc.
- That CoralVue be immediately notified in writing within ten (10) days of first knowledge of defect by owner or his agent.
- That CoralVue, Inc. shall be given first opportunity to make any repairs, replacements or corrections to the defective construction within a reasonable period of time.
- Under no circumstances shall CoralVue and/or the Manufacturer be liable by virtue of this warranty or otherwise for damage to any person or property whatsoever for any special, indirect, secondary or consequential damages of any nature however arising out of the use or inability to use because of the product defect.
- Measure your sump's current water level and compare it to your skimmer's recommended operating depth.
- Choose the appropriate height peg setting (3", 3.8", or 4.5") on the ST-1.
- Place the stand in your sump, ensuring it is level and stable.
- Set the protein skimmer on the platform.
- Monitor the skimmer for 24 hours; as the air-to-water ratio changes, you may need to adjust your skimmer's outlet valve to recalibrate the foam head.
Pro Tips:
Find your "Sweet Spot."
If your skimmer cup fills with clear water too quickly, it is likely sitting too deep. Raise it on the ST-1 until you achieve a dark, consistent skimmate. Most Reef Octopus skimmers perform best in 7–9 inches of water.
Check for level placement. Ensure the stand sits flat on the bottom of the sump. If it is tilted, your skimmer’s internal water level will be uneven, which can lead to premature overflowing or inconsistent foam production.
Clean under the stand monthly. Detritus can accumulate beneath and inside the acrylic platform over time. Lift the stand during your monthly maintenance to siphon out any trapped waste and prevent nitrate buildup.
