This Standard Limited Warranty applies and is limited as follows:
- To the product only as long as it remains in the possession of the original purchaser.
- To the product that has not been subject to accident, misuse or abuse.
- To the product that has not been modified, altered, defaced, or had repairs made or attempted by other than CoralVue, Inc.
- That CoralVue be immediately notified in writing within ten (10) days of first knowledge of defect by owner or his agent.
- That CoralVue, Inc. shall be given first opportunity to make any repairs, replacements or corrections to the defective construction within a reasonable period of time.
- Under no circumstances shall CoralVue and/or the Manufacturer be liable by virtue of this warranty or otherwise for damage to any person or property whatsoever for any special, indirect, secondary or consequential damages of any nature however arising out of the use or inability to use because of the product defect.
- Turn off the skimmer pump and remove the collection cup.
- Ensure the O-ring on the extension is clean and properly seated in the groove.
- Align the NK-170 extension with the top of the skimmer body and press down firmly to create a seal.
- Place the collection cup on top of the extension.
- Restart the skimmer and monitor the water level; you may need to open the gate valve to compensate for the added height.
Pro Tips:
Measure your cabinet height before purchase.
Because this is a 3-inch extension, it significantly changes the overall height of your skimmer. Ensure you have at least 4 inches of clearance above the new total height to comfortably remove the collection cup for maintenance.
Lubricate O-rings for a better seal. Applying a small amount of aquarium-safe silicone lubricant to the O-ring will prevent the acrylic from sticking and ensure a leak-proof connection, making it easier to disassemble for deep cleaning later.
Ideal for "Drier" Skimmate. If your skimmer is producing very wet, light-colored waste, adding this 3-inch extension allows the foam more time to shed water as it rises, resulting in a darker, more concentrated skimmate.
