The Dymax IQ5 is a 4.7-gallon all-in-one acrylic aquarium that packages filtration, lighting, and flow into a single compact unit. Everything needed to get started is included in the box: the tank, a fully integrated filtration system, a DC powerhead with flow rate control, and a dimmable LED lamp. Setup is straightforward without sourcing components separately. At just under 9 inches wide and 11.5 inches tall, it fits comfortably on a desk, shelf, or countertop.
The tank body is built from ultra-clear ¼-inch acrylic with curved edges and pedestal legs. Acrylic is stronger and more impact-resistant than standard glass at this thickness, and the ultra-clear formulation provides better optical clarity than standard acrylic or glass, with less color distortion when viewing the tank from the front or sides. The curved-edge design eliminates sharp corners, which also makes the tank safer to handle during maintenance and water changes.
The lighting system uses 28 LEDs with separate white and blue channels, both independently dimmable via touch controls on the microprocessor base. The blue channel allows for a moonlight or actinic effect independent of the white channel. The overflow system and integrated filtration keep hardware hidden inside the tank's rear chamber, maintaining a clean front-facing appearance.

Pro Tips:
- Keep the flow rate low for shrimp. The DC powerhead's adjustable flow control is one of the IQ5's most useful features for shrimp keepers. Freshwater shrimp, particularly Neocaridina and Caridina species, prefer gentle flow. Setting the pump to its lowest effective flow rate reduces stress on shrimp and prevents small juveniles from being drawn into the intake.
- Use the blue channel independently for a nighttime effect. The separate white and blue LED channels let the white light be turned off while the blue remains on at low intensity. This creates a moonlight effect that is easier on fish and shrimp in the evening and gives the tank a visually striking appearance after dark.
- Acrylic scratches more easily than glass, so use the included cleaning cloth. The ultra-clear acrylic provides excellent optical clarity, but it is more susceptible to fine scratches from abrasive cleaning tools than glass. Using the Dymax IQ Synthetic Cleaning Cloth rather than a standard sponge or pad is the most practical way to maintain optical clarity over time.

This Standard Limited Warranty applies and is limited as follows:
- To the product only as long as it remains in the possession of the original purchaser.
- To the product that has not been subject to accident, misuse or abuse.
- To the product that has not been modified, altered, defaced, or had repairs made or attempted by other than CoralVue, Inc.
- That CoralVue be immediately notified in writing within ten (10) days of first knowledge of defect by owner or his agent.
- That CoralVue, Inc. shall be given first opportunity to make any repairs, replacements or corrections to the defective construction within a reasonable period of time.
- Under no circumstances shall CoralVue and/or the Manufacturer be liable by virtue of this warranty or otherwise for damage to any person or property whatsoever for any special, indirect, secondary or consequential damages of any nature however arising out of the use or inability to use because of the product defect.
Instructions:
- Place the IQ5 on a level, water-resistant surface capable of supporting a filled aquarium. A 4.7-gallon tank weighs approximately 40 to 42 lbs when full.
- Rinse the tank and all components with clean water before use. Do not use soap or detergents.
- Add substrate and any decorations before filling with water.
- Fill the tank with treated freshwater. For shrimp tanks, use remineralized RO/DI water appropriate for the shrimp species being kept.
- Set the DC powerhead flow rate using the adjustment control. Start at a low flow setting, particularly for shrimp.
- Power on the microprocessor base and use the touch controls to set the white and blue LED brightness to the desired levels.
- Allow the tank to cycle completely before adding livestock. For a shrimp tank, a full nitrogen cycle of four to six weeks is recommended before introducing animals.
