    • Hybrid Connection Ports: Features a 2" female threaded (FNPT) port on the flange head and a 2" female slip socket on the body for versatile plumbing.

    • Premium Ribbed Sealing Gasket: Includes a thick, custom-molded black rubber gasket designed to seat perfectly against glass or acrylic surfaces without slipping.

    • Aquarium-Grade Black uPVC: Solid black coloration resists UV degradation and blends seamlessly against painted or vinyl-backed aquarium backgrounds.

    • Reef Safe Construction: Free from heavy metals, plasticizers, and recycled materials, ensuring 100% compatibility with delicate corals and marine fish.

    • Left-Hand Reverse Threading: The external locking nut features reverse threading to prevent the bulkhead from spinning or loosening during piping installation.

CoralVue 2in Thread x Slip PVC Bulkhead Fitting (SKU: RF-92020-TS)

The CoralVue 2" Thread x Slip PVC Bulkhead (SKU: RF-92020-TS) is a commercial-grade, heavy-duty structural fitting designed to provide absolute leak protection at the critical junction where water exits or enters your display tank. Large display aquariums and high-volume filtration sumps require substantial drainage capacity, and a true 2-inch plumbing line is the standard for high-turnover primary gravity drains and master closed-loop suction ports. Unlike light-duty pond fittings, this bulkhead is molded from high-impact, thick-walled unplasticized PVC (uPVC) built to withstand the physical stress of heavy pipe runs and continuous system vibration.

This bulkhead uses a specialized hybrid Thread x Slip configuration. The flange head (the wet side of the bulkhead) features a 2" female NPT thread. This allows you to screw in pre-fabricated overflow screens, elbow standpipes, or emergency drain covers that can be easily removed for cleaning or adjustment without cutting your plumbing. The dry side of the bulkhead body features a 2" smooth female slip socket, allowing you to solvent-weld standard 2-inch schedule 40 or schedule 80 rigid PVC pipe directly into the run for a permanent, high-integrity joint.

    Key Features

    • Thick-Flange Design: Features a wide, structural flange head that distributes clamping force evenly across glass or acrylic panels to prevent stress fractures.

    • Reversible Locking Nut: Includes a heavy-duty hexagonal nut with integrated flats, allowing for easy hand-tightening or precision wrench adjustment.

    • Optimized Bore Profile: Provides a completely unobstructed 2-inch interior path to maximize gravity-drained GPH rates and eliminate localized air pockets.

    • (Note: This retail SKU contains (1) complete RF-92020-TS bulkhead assembly, including the uPVC bulkhead body, (1) rubber sealing gasket, and (1) reverse-threaded locking nut).

    What’s Included:

    • (1) CoralVue RF-92020-TS 2" Thread x Slip Bulkhead Body

    • Thread Direction (Locking Nut): Left-Hand (Reverse) Threads

    1. Prior to installation, ensure the glass cutout edges are clean, smooth, and entirely free of chips or leftover silicone.
    2. Slide the rubber compression gasket onto the bulkhead body so it sits flush against the underside of the wide flange head.
    3. Place the gasket on the flange side only. The flange and gasket must go on the inside of the tank (wet side) if water is pulling through, or whichever side the flange sits against the glass. The nut must rest directly against the panel without a gasket on the dry side.
    4. Push the bulkhead body through the glass cutout.
    5. Thread the locking nut onto the bulkhead body from the opposite side. Note: These are reverse threads. Spin the nut counter-clockwise to tighten it.
    6. Hand-tighten the nut until it sits completely flush against the glass panel. Using bulk plumbing wrenches or channel locks, turn the nut an additional 1/4 to 1/2 turn.
    7. Do not over-tighten. Over-tightening will squeeze out or warp the rubber gasket, leading to slow, structural capillary leaks or potential cracking of acrylic/glass.
    8. Screw in your threaded internal fixtures using a small wrap of PTFE teflon tape. Solvent-weld your dry-side 2" pipe into the slip socket following standard uPVC cement protocols.
    Pro Tips:
    • Never Place the Gasket on the Nut Side.
CRITICAL AQUARIUM SAFETY WARNING: The rubber gasket must always sit on the side of the panel with the flange head. If you place a gasket on the nut side, spinning the nut to tighten it will pinch, twist, and tear the rubber, creating immediate micro-gaps. The nut must spin directly against the bare glass or acrylic panel to achieve a true, stable physical lock.
    • Keep Silicone Sealants Away from the Rubber Gasket. Do not apply standard aquarium silicone or marine adhesives to the rubber bulkhead gasket. EPDM rubber gaskets are engineered to create a perfect dry mechanical seal. Liquid silicone will act as a lubricant, causing the gasket to slide out of alignment under torque or degrade prematurely over time. If a glass panel is uneven, use a thin smear of plumber's pure silicone grease (not adhesive) to seat the gasket flat.
    • Support Your Heavy Dry-Side Plumbing runs. A 2-inch pipe filled with water is incredibly heavy. When running rigid PVC out of a 2-inch bulkhead, always support the pipe weight using wall clamps or shelf brackets. Letting the weight of the pipe run hang directly on the bulkhead body puts severe leverage stress on the glass cutout, which can cause the gasket to unseat or crack your tank wall.
