IceCap Smart RODI Electronic Shut-off Solenoid Valve
Maintaining fully automated water purification with an automated RO/DI unit requires responsive electronic control over incoming tap water supply lines. The IceCap Electronic Shut-off Solenoid Valve (SKU: IC-RI-SV01) is the official OEM replacement water supply solenoid valve designed specifically for the IceCap Smart RODI System. Continuous exposure to municipal water pressure and high-frequency cycling can wear internal valve diaphragms over time, leading to slow water weeping or failure to actuate.
Built as a Normally Closed (NC) solenoid valve, this unit remains completely sealed until signaled by the Smart RODI controller. When the system initiates a production or membrane flush cycle, the controller energizes the valve coil to lift the internal plunger and allow full feed water flow. When product water production completes, electrical current stops and the valve snaps shut instantly, preventing constant wastewater running to the drain.
Ideal Replacement Scenario
If your IceCap Smart RODI system continues to trickle waste water down the drain while in standby mode, fails to open feed water flow when turned on, or exhibits a buzzing valve block, replacing the solenoid valve with the authentic IC-RI-SV01 restores full automated system control.

Installation & Replacement Guidelines:
Turn off the main cold water supply valve to your IceCap Smart RODI system and unplug the Smart RODI power unit.
Disconnect the electrical wiring plug connecting the old solenoid valve to the Smart RODI controller harness.
Depress the quick-connect collet rings on both sides of the old valve to release the 1/4" PE intake and exit tubing.
Note the directional flow arrow stamped on the body of the new IC-RI-SV01 valve and push the 1/4" tubing firmly into the ports until fully seated (~5/8" insertion depth).
Plug the electrical lead into the controller harness, turn on the source water supply, restore power, and check for leak-free operation during system startup.
Pro Tips:
- Verify Flow Arrow Orientation. Solenoid valves are strictly directional. Always make sure the directional flow arrow on the valve body points downstream toward the Smart RODI membrane housing. Installing the valve backward will cause line pressure to force the valve open, allowing water to pass even when unpowered.
- Seat Quick-Connect Tubing Completely. To prevent slow weeping leaks under household water pressure, cut 1/4" tubing completely square using a tubing cutter before insertion. Push the line firmly into the collet until you feel it pass the internal O-ring seal.
