    • Direct OEM Smart RO/DI Fit: Factory-original replacement high-pressure cutoff switch engineered specifically for the IceCap Smart RO/DI System and standalone IceCap Booster Pump Kits.
    • Prevents Booster Pump Dead-Heading: Automatically cuts electrical power to the booster pump when downstream float valves or storage reservoirs close, preventing motor burnout and blown plumbing fittings.
    • Automates Reservoir Top-Off: Seamlessly integrates with mechanical float valves or solenoid valves to shut down water production automatically when holding tanks reach capacity.
    • Integrated 1/4" Push-Connect Ports: Built-in 1/4-inch quick-connect fittings allow swift, leak-proof tube insertion without needing separate threaded adapters.
    • Pre-Terminated 2-Pin Connector: Factory-standard 2-pin electrical plug provides direct, plug-and-play wiring connection to IceCap booster pump harnesses.

IceCap Reverse Osmosis Replacement High Pressure Switch

Automating pure water production for top-off containers and saltwater mixing stations requires dependable pressure sensing to turn off equipment when reservoirs are full. The IceCap Reverse Osmosis High Pressure Switch (SKU: IP-RI-HS01) is the official OEM replacement inline cutoff sensor engineered specifically for IceCap Smart RO/DI Systems and IceCap Booster Pump assemblies.

Installed inline on the pure permeate (product) line between the membrane/DI output and your reservoir float valve, the IP-RI-HS01 monitors line backpressure. In normal operation, water flows freely through the switch, keeping its internal electrical contacts closed to deliver continuous power to the booster pump. When a float valve or float switch solenoid closes as the reservoir fills, pure water can no longer escape. Backpressure rapidly accumulates inside the product line. Once this pressure reaches approximately 35 to 40 PSI, the IP-RI-HS01’s internal diaphragm trips, breaking the electrical circuit to shut down the booster pump instantly. This stops the pump from dead-heading against a closed line, protecting pump diaphragms, preventing burst tubing, and terminating wastewater discharge.

    Ideal Replacement Scenario

If your booster pump fails to shut off when your reservoir float valve closes (causing high line pressure and vibrating tubing), if the pump will not turn on at all despite adequate feed pressure, or if the push-connect ports on the switch have developed a leak, installing an authentic IP-RI-HS01 restores reliable automatic shut-off control.

    • (Note: Package includes (1) IceCap Reverse Osmosis High Pressure Switch with integrated 1/4-inch push-connect fittings).

    Installation & Replacement Guidelines:

    1. Turn off the cold water supply feeding the RO/DI system and unplug the booster pump electrical transformer.

    2. Open your pure water product line to relieve all standing line pressure.

    3. Depress the release collets on both ends of the existing high-pressure switch and remove the 1/4-inch PE tubing lines.

    4. Unplug the 2-pin electrical connector from the booster pump wiring harness.

    5. Inspect the cut ends of your 1/4-inch tubing; make a clean, square cut if the ends show gouges or flattening.

    6. Push the tubing firmly into the ports of the new IP-RI-HS01 until fully seated past the internal O-rings.

    7. Connect the 2-pin electrical plug into the corresponding port on the booster pump wire harness.

    8. Reopen the cold-water feed supply and restore electrical power.

    9. Test the switch operation by closing your reservoir ball valve or lifting your float valve; confirm that the booster pump turns off cleanly within several seconds.

    Pro Tips:

    • Install Downstream of the Membrane Check Valve. Always verify that the high-pressure switch is installed on the pure product line downstream of the reverse osmosis membrane’s one-way check valve. Without a functional check valve, backpressure can bleed backward into the membrane housing and waste stream, preventing the switch from building enough pressure to trip the internal electrical contacts.
    • Ensure Tight Tubing Cuts to Prevent Creeping Leaks. High-pressure switches operate under sustained backpressure (up to 40 PSI) whenever the reservoir is full. When plumbing 1/4-inch tubing into the quick-connect ports, always use a dedicated razor tubing cutter to ensure flat, 90-degree square edges. Angled or jagged cuts can allow micro-leaks to develop around the internal O-ring when the line is pressurized.
