WARRANTY
CoralVue, Inc. and Reef Octopus hereby guarantee this product to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of:
- Five (5) year warranty on pump body/housing
- Three (3) year warranty on Reef Octopus-branded controller
- One (1) year warranty on Power Supply, Impeller (and components), Rotor, Rear Bushing, and Gaskets
Warranty is activated on the date of purchase.
This Standard Limited Warranty applies and is limited as follows:
- To the product only as long as it remains in the possession of the original purchaser.
- To the product that has not been subject to accident, misuse or abuse.
- To the product that has not been modified, altered, defaced, or had repairs made or attempted by other than CoralVue, Inc.
- That CoralVue be immediately notified in writing within ten (10) days of first knowledge of defect by owner or his agent.
- That CoralVue, Inc. shall be given first opportunity to make any repairs, replacements or corrections to the defective construction within a reasonable period of time.
- Under no circumstances shall CoralVue and/or the Manufacturer be liable by virtue of this warranty or otherwise for damage to any person or property whatsoever for any special, indirect, secondary or consequential damages of any nature however arising out of the use or inability to use because of the product defect.
- Separate the internal powerhead body from the external dry-side magnetic mounting disc.
- Place the Octo Pulse 2 into your display tank at your desired depth, sliding the outer magnet along the glass to secure it.
- Tilt and orbit the powerhead inside its concave mounting collar to guide the broad nozzle towards your primary aquascape structures.
- Route the waterproof pump connection cable cleanly out of your display tank and down into your primary equipment cabinet.
- Thread the pump line into your multi-pump controller system (such as a HYDROS WaveEngine) using the appropriate direct drive adapter cord.
- Open your preferred control application on your mobile device, run the configuration setup to recognize the new device, and program your desired wave cycle.
Pro Tips:
- Adapter Matching. If you are connecting this pump to a HYDROS WaveEngine, remember to pick up the HYDROS Reef Octopus VarioS & OctoPulse WaveEngine Pump Adapter. Trying to modify or splice the native connection cord yourself can result in water damage or permanent hardware failure, and will void the manufacturer's operational warranty.
- Combat Calcium Build-Up. Moving 1,600 GPH creates localized friction that can draw out dissolved calcium carbonate. Every 2 to 3 months, twist off the front protective safety shroud, slide out the rare-earth magnet impeller assembly, and submerge the parts in a warm bath of citric acid or pure white vinegar. This breaks up crusty scale inside the rear bushing, preventing startup stalls or audible ticking sounds.
- Staggered Placement Strategies. When deploying an Octo Pulse 2 alongside another powerhead in a high-turnover SPS coral environment, mount the pumps on opposite walls pointing slightly toward each other. Program them via your centralized controller in an Anti-Sync sequence (one ramps high while the other drops low).
