Standard wavemaker pumps ship with standard factory magnetic pairs optimized exclusively for typical residential aquariums. However, when attempting to mount those units on thick glass, the excessive material thickness drastically weakens the magnetic attraction field. This weak connection leads to sliding, vibrating resonance noise, and dangerous pump decoupling failures. The ROP-OPXMAG resolves this problem entirely, acting as a high-density magnetic booster hub.

This Standard Limited Warranty applies and is limited as follows:
- To the product only as long as it remains in the possession of the original purchaser.
- To the product that has not been subject to accident, misuse or abuse.
- To the product that has not been modified, altered, defaced, or had repairs made or attempted by other than CoralVue, Inc.
- That CoralVue be immediately notified in writing within ten (10) days of first knowledge of defect by owner or his agent.
- That CoralVue, Inc. shall be given first opportunity to make any repairs, replacements or corrections to the defective construction within a reasonable period of time.
- Under no circumstances shall CoralVue and/or the Manufacturer be liable by virtue of this warranty or otherwise for damage to any person or property whatsoever for any special, indirect, secondary or consequential damages of any nature however arising out of the use or inability to use because of the product defect.
- Turn off your Octo Pulse controller to kill power to the internal wet-side powerhead assembly.
- Firmly grip the existing stock internal wet-side pump while a second person slowly slides away the old stock dry-side magnet on the outside of the glass.
- Remove the stock exterior dry-side magnet from your workspace entirely to prevent accidental metal attraction hazards with the new hardware.
- Take the new Octo Pulse Extra Strong Outer Magnet Mount and place it flat against the outer display glass, a few inches away from where the internal pump will sit.
- Carefully and slowly slide the extra strong outer magnet across the glass pane until it snaps into direct, centered alignment with the internal wet-side pump's magnetic ring.
- Verify the pump is securely positioned at your preferred angle, power on your wave controller, and confirm the pump remains stable during peak pulsing flow patterns.
Pro Tips:
- Beware of the Pinch Hazard. Rare-earth magnets of this caliber possess an exceptional amount of raw kinetic attraction force. When installing or bringing the dry magnet near the aquarium glass, never point it straight at the internal magnet from a distance. Always introduce the magnet from an offset position flat against the glass, and slide it slowly toward the pump. Keeping your fingers clear of the direct landing path prevents painful skin pinching or unexpected glass damage.
- Ensure Clear Contact Surfaces. Before sliding this high-strength upgrade into its final position, thoroughly clean the exterior surface of the display glass to remove any salt spray, dust, or moisture. Even a tiny trapped grain of sand or salt creep can be pressed against the glass under the extreme clamping force of the extra strong magnet, which could create a permanent scratch when sliding or pivoting the pump nozzle position.
- Check Wet-Side Seating Gaskets. Because this dry-side upgrade significantly amplifies the internal magnetic pull across your glass, take a moment to inspect the thin rubber or silicone gasket on your inside wet-side pump base.
