Krill-Forward Slow-Sinking Pellet for Carnivorous Marine Fish

The Dymax Marine Complete Pellet Food (60g) is a 1.6mm slow-sinking pellet built around the protein and fat requirements of carnivorous and omnivorous marine fish. At 42% protein and 8% fat, it delivers a nutritionally denser profile than most general marine pellets — a meaningful difference for carnivores like lionfish, groupers, triggers, and puffers that need animal-sourced protein as the foundation of their diet. Krill meal is the first ingredient, followed by fish meal and mussel meal, giving the formula a marine protein base that carnivorous species find highly palatable.

The 60g container is the smallest available size in the Marine Complete range, suited for small tanks with light carnivorous stocking or for hobbyists trialing the formula before committing to a larger supply. Garlic is included to accelerate acceptance from finicky or newly imported fish that resist prepared pellets. The slow-sinking format is specifically designed to reach bottom-dwelling feeders — hawkfish, scorpionfish, and other species that wait for food to settle rather than striking at the surface.

Manufactured without artificial colors or preservatives under strict quality control standards.

Key Features:

  • 1.6mm slow-sinking small pellet sized for small to medium carnivorous and omnivorous marine fish
  • 42% protein and 8% fat content to support the higher nutritional demands of carnivorous species
  • Krill meal listed first in ingredients, backed by fish meal and mussel meal for palatability and marine protein
  • Astaxanthin and β-carotenoid provide dual-pathway natural color enhancement
  • β-Glucan supports immune system function against bacterial and parasitic stress
  • Bacillus Subtilis probiotic supports digestive efficiency and reduces waste output
  • Garlic included to attract finicky feeders and recently imported fish
  • Slow-sinking pellet behavior reaches bottom-dwellers that do not feed at the surface
  • Highly digestible formula reduces waste and helps maintain water quality
  • No artificial colors, preservatives, or harmful additives; manufactured under strict quality control
  • 60g / 180ml container suited for small tanks or trial use

Ideal For:

  • Small fish-only and reef tanks housing carnivorous species such as hawkfish, small groupers, dottybacks, and puffers that need a high-protein marine pellet in the small size range
  • Marine hobbyists switching carnivorous fish from frozen mysis, silversides, or other live and frozen foods to a prepared pellet diet
  • Retailers looking to carry an entry-size container of the Marine Complete formula alongside the larger sizes as a natural retail progression

Pro Tips:

  • Let the pellet sink before the target fish engages. Unlike surface-feeding omnivores that dart at floating food, many carnivorous reef fish are ambush feeders. Dropping the pellet near the fish's territory and allowing it to slow-sink into position typically produces a cleaner, more decisive strike than broadcasting food across the surface.
  • Offer garlic-enhanced foods alongside the pellet during the transition period. The garlic in this formula is a meaningful palatability aid, but carnivores accustomed to live or frozen prey can take two to four weeks to fully accept a pellet. Running the Complete alongside a frozen food for the first week or two and gradually reducing the frozen portion tends to result in a cleaner transition.
  • Match portion size to the number of carnivores in the tank, not the tank volume. A tank with three fish of similar size needs much less food per feeding than a six-fish tank of the same volume. Carnivores are efficient metabolizers and do not need to feed as frequently as smaller reef community fish.

While most of our equipment carries a one-year manufacturer's warranty, consumable products like fish and coral foods are not covered under traditional warranty terms due to their perishable nature and varied storage conditions. However, we fully stand behind the quality of every product we sell. If you experience any issues with your food purchase shortly after receiving it, such as concerns about freshness, packaging integrity, or product quality, please contact us at [email protected]. We're committed to making it right and will work with you to resolve any problems quickly and fairly.

Instructions:

  1. Feed once to twice daily in small amounts. Only add what your fish will consume within two to three minutes.
  2. Allow the pellet to sink slowly into position near bottom-dwelling or ambush-feeding carnivores rather than broadcasting food at the surface.
  3. For fish being converted from frozen or live food, offer the pellet alongside the existing food and gradually increase the proportion of pellets over two to four weeks.
  4. Remove any uneaten pellets after three to five minutes using a fine net or turkey baster to avoid waste-driven nutrient buildup.
  5. Store the container tightly sealed in a cool, dry location between feedings.
