    • Direct OEM RO/DI Integration: Factory-original replacement three-way union tee engineered specifically for IceCap 4-Stage, Smart RO/DI, and auxiliary filtration platforms.
    • Triple 1/4" Push-Connect Ports: Equipped with three precision quick-connect collets to easily split a single water line into two or combine dual lines into one.
    • Tool-Free Tubing Installation: Push-fit design grips standard 1/4-inch OD polyethylene tubing instantly with stainless steel teeth without requiring wrenches, glue, or hose clamps.
    • High-Pressure Leak-Proof Seal: Precision-molded acetal construction with internal elastomeric O-rings safely withstands continuous municipal pressure and booster surges up to 125 PSI.
    • Versatile Multi-Line Plumbing: Perfect for routing pure water to multiple top-off reservoirs, plumbing dual-membrane piggyback lines, or adding inline pressure monitoring.

IceCap Reverse Osmosis 1/4-Inch Union Tee Fitting

Customizing and expanding an aquarium water purification system often requires branching water lines without complicating the plumbing layout. The IceCap Reverse Osmosis 1/4in Tube Union Tee Tube (SKU: IP-RI-Q7044 / IC-RI-Q7044) is the official OEM three-way union fitting engineered specifically for IceCap Reverse Osmosis and RO/DI Systems and universal 1/4-inch aquatic water purification equipment.

Unlike threaded fittings that require specific ports or bulkheads, the IP-RI-Q7044 is an equal union tee designed to splice directly inline between sections of semi-rigid 1/4-inch outer diameter (OD) polyethylene tubing. Each of the three ports contains internal stainless steel grab rings and high-grade elastomeric O-rings that form an immediate, airtight and watertight seal when tubing is inserted. This fitting is essential for multi-point water distribution—such as branching purified RO/DI water to an auto top-off (ATO) reservoir and a saltwater mixing station simultaneously, joining the pure permeate streams in dual-membrane piggyback upgrades, or plumbing inline pressure cutoff switches and digital pressure sensors into active feed lines. Molded from food-grade polyoxymethylene (POM), it resists stress fatigue, pressure spikes, and chemical oxidation from chlorinated tap water.

    Ideal Replacement & Upgrade Scenarios

If an existing plastic tee fitting has cracked from mechanical stress, if collets fail to grip tubing under booster pump pressure, or if you are expanding your filtration layout to feed multiple storage reservoirs or add-on stages, the IP-RI-Q7044 provides a dependable, leak-free connection.

    Installation & Replacement Guidelines:

    1. Shut off the cold-water feed supply to your RO/DI unit and relieve standing line pressure.

    2. If replacing an existing damaged tee, depress the quick-connect collet rings firmly against the fitting body and withdraw the three tubing lines.

    3. Inspect each tube end to ensure clean, flat, 90-degree square cuts without longitudinal scratches or oval flattening.

    4. Push each 1/4-inch tube firmly into its respective port on the new IP-RI-Q7044 until it passes the internal O-ring and bottoms out against the internal stop (approx. 5/8-inch depth).

    5. Gently pull outward on each tube line to confirm that the stainless steel retention teeth have locked onto the tubing wall.

    6. Slide locking clips (if used) beneath the collet heads to prevent accidental depression during routine maintenance.

    7. Reopen the cold-water supply valve slowly and check all three connection points for drips under full operational pressure.

    Pro Tips:

    • Use Locking Clips for High-Pressure Lines. While quick-connect fittings hold tubing securely under normal operation, lines downstream of a booster pump or subject to vibration can flex. Placing standard 1/4-inch blue locking clips underneath the collets prevents them from being accidentally bumped or depressed, eliminating the risk of line blowouts.
    • Always Cut Square to Ensure Equal Seating. Because an equal union tee has three connection points, an angled or crushed cut on any single line can cause a slow, chronic leak. Always use a dedicated tube cutter rather than scissors to make sharp, 90-degree perpendicular cuts before inserting tubing into the fitting.
