IceCap FP-60 Aquarium Flow Pump (IC-FP-60)
The IceCap FP-60 Aquarium Flow Pump (SKU: IC-FP-60) is an authentic, highly customizable directional wavemaker distributed by CoralVue to provide vital water circulation in compact freshwater aquariums and nano marine reef environments. Healthy water motion is the literal life support line of a closed aquatic ecosystem; continuous flow drives surface gas exchange to maximize oxygen levels, prevents stagnant pockets where organic waste can settle, and continuously carries nutrients to live plants and filter-feeding coral polyps. Large, bulky powerheads look incredibly distracting in smaller aquariums and easily overpower nano fish or knock over fragile corals with overly harsh streams. The IC-FP-60 solves this design hurdle by pairing a highly compact, low-profile internal pump body with an advanced external digital programmer.
Measuring a mere 2.6 x 2 x 2 inches including its internal magnetic base, the FP-60 blends seamlessly into the background scenery of your layout, preserving your display's raw visual focus. Despite its micro proportions, the pump utilizes a high-efficiency impeller array to generate up to 790 gallons per hour of wide, comfortable water movement. The included controller features a physical adjustment knob and digital buttons to jump between 10 micro-adjustable speed steps and 5 distinct wave patterns, allowing you to establish anything from a gentle freshwater stream to a dynamic, irregular marine reef surge. Engineered with safety protections like smart voltage monitoring and water shortage auto-shutoffs, the IceCap FP-60 brings professional-grade water management features to desktop and nano aquariums.
Key Features
Five Presets for Dynamic Wave Action: Choose between Pulsing (surging waves), Constant Flow (steady current), Stream (gradual ramping speeds), Random (irregular reef currents), and Cycle modes.
Automated Controller Security Lock: Features a built-in safety lock setting that temporarily disables the controller wheel and buttons to prevent accidental adjustment changes.
Protects Livestock Health: Wide-angle output nozzle spreads out the water pressure, preventing high-velocity hot spots so small fish and invertebrates can swim comfortably.
(Note: This complete wavemaker kit includes the standalone FP-60 submersible pump body with integrated wet-side magnetic mount, independent digital flow controller, external dry-side magnet pad, and low-voltage DC power supply block).

Instructions:
- Unbox your IC-FP-60 kit carefully. Separate the internal pump block from the external dry-side magnet. Warning: Keep the two powerful magnets apart during unboxing to avoid pinching your fingers.
- Wipe clean the interior and exterior glass surfaces where you want to mount the pump to remove any fine sand or algae that could scrape your tank walls.
- Submerge the pump assembly completely in your tank water, holding it below the waterline. Tilt the pump slightly to let any trapped air bubbles escape from the front propeller cage.
- Hold the internal pump body in place against the glass, and guide the external dry-side magnet into position from the outside until the magnets couple securely. Do not snap the magnets together directly; slide them inward to protect the glass panel.
- Mount the digital controller on your dry cabinet wall using its built-in hanging mount, route the pump's power cable using a safe drip loop to keep water from traveling down the cord, and plug the power supply into a wall outlet.
- Use the controller's central knob and buttons to select your desired flow mode preset and power intensity percentage, adjusting the pivoting pump mount by hand to aim the flow direction.
Pro Tips:
- Position the Pump Towards the Surface for Maximum Oxygenation and Film Removal. To maximize gas exchange and eliminate that unsightly organic oil film that forms on top of stagnant aquarium water, aim your FP-60 slightly upward towards the water surface. Adjust the pivoting head until you see a rolling ripple on the surface without creating a loud splashing sound. This rolling agitation continuously breaks up organic biofilms, driving dissolved oxygen into the water column to support healthy biological filtration and respiration.
- Clean the Magnetic Bases Thoroughly After Performing Substrate Sand Maintenance. Whenever you are cleaning your tank substrate, scraping algae near the bottom glass, or rearranging rockwork, fine grains of mineral sand or quartz can easily float up and get trapped between the pump's magnetic pads and the glass. If you need to adjust or slide the pump to a new position, always lift the external dry magnet completely off first rather than dragging it. This simple habit keeps trapped grit from leaving deep, permanent scratches across your glass or acrylic panels.
- Perform a Simple Vinegar Soak Every 90 Days to Prevent Hard Calcium Lock. Continuous exposure to aquarium water will slowly cause organic film and hard calcium scaling to accumulate along the internal impeller shaft. To keep your pump running quietly and efficiently, pull the pump out every three months. Twist the front flow cage counter-clockwise to open the body, slide the propeller assembly out, and soak the wet-side components in a 50/50 mix of warm fresh water and white vinegar for 30 minutes. This dissolves stubborn mineral crusts, keeps your motor running silent, and prevents premature motor burnouts.
