The holders are adjustable in both angle and height, allowing the outflow pipe to be set at the precise surface depth needed for optimal circular surface current and gas exchange, and the inflow pipe to be positioned in the correct lower-column location for effective water draw into the canister filter.
Correct lily pipe positioning is more consequential than it might appear. The outflow lily pipe's depth relative to the water surface determines whether the circular current reaches and agitates the surface effectively — a few millimeters too deep and the surface movement becomes too gentle; too shallow and the outflow splashes rather than flowing, driving CO2 out of solution in planted tanks. Once the correct depth is identified, the holder maintains it exactly. Without a holder, lily pipes connected to canister filter hose can shift their position incrementally over time, particularly when the hose is disturbed during water changes or when the canister is moved for maintenance.

- Set the outflow position precisely before locking the holder in place. The holder's job is to maintain whatever position it is set to, so the initial setup is the most important step. Position the outflow bell at or just below the water surface to produce a visible but gentle circular surface ripple before clamping the holder, and confirm the surface movement is correct before leaving the tank.

This Standard Limited Warranty applies and is limited as follows:
- To the product only as long as it remains in the possession of the original purchaser.
- To the product that has not been subject to accident, misuse or abuse.
- To the product that has not been modified, altered, defaced, or had repairs made or attempted by other than CoralVue, Inc.
- That CoralVue be immediately notified in writing within ten (10) days of first knowledge of defect by owner or his agent.
- That CoralVue, Inc. shall be given first opportunity to make any repairs, replacements or corrections to the defective construction within a reasonable period of time.
- Under no circumstances shall CoralVue and/or the Manufacturer be liable by virtue of this warranty or otherwise for damage to any person or property whatsoever for any special, indirect, secondary or consequential damages of any nature however arising out of the use or inability to use because of the product defect.
Instructions:
- Determine the correct position for both the outflow lily pipe and the inflow inlet pipe in the aquarium.
- Attach one holder to the aquarium glass at the outflow position using the holder's mounting mechanism.
- Insert the outflow lily pipe into the holder and adjust angle and height to position the flared bell at or just below the water surface.
- Attach the second holder at the inflow position and insert the inlet pipe, adjusting angle and height so the intake sits in the lower third of the aquarium.
- Start the canister filter and confirm both pipes are secure and the outflow produces a gentle circular surface current. Fine-tune angle and height as needed before locking the holders in their final positions.
- For cleaning, remove each holder from the glass, clean separately with a soft cloth or dilute citric acid solution, and reinstall.
