- Optimized for 4-Foot Aquariums: Measures a full 48 inches to deliver seamless, edge-to-edge linear daylight illumination across standard 4-foot aquariums (such as 55, 75, 90, and 120-gallon setups).
- Crisp Natural Daylight Spectrum: Tuned to a balanced ~6,500K–7,000K daylight color temperature to showcase true-to-life fish scales, substrate textures, and natural riverbed hardscapes.
- High-Density LumiLite PRO Array: Packed with tightly spaced surface-mount micro-LEDs that eliminate color separation, banding, and harsh shimmer lines.
- Diffuses Shadows & Eliminates Dead Zones: Spans the entire length of the aquarium to cast a uniform, wraparound blanket of light that softens harsh shadows from large rocks and driftwood.
- Passive Extruded Aluminum Heatsink: Ultra-slim aircraft-grade aluminum chassis dissipates thermal energy upward through natural convection, ensuring silent, fan-free operation without transferring heat to the water.
- Automation & Dimmer Ready: Fully dimmable and easily paired with Reef Brite inline rotary dimmers, Bluetooth LE modules, or third-party 0–10V aquarium controllers.
Reef Brite 48-Inch Lumi Lite PRO Freshwater LED Strip Light
Illuminating a standard 4-foot freshwater aquarium with clustered pucks or central pendants often produces excessive shadows behind tall rock structures and driftwood, leaving dark, unlit corners at either end of the tank. The Reef Brite Lumi Lite PRO, 48" Freshwater Aquarium LED Light Strip - Freshwater (SKU: RB-LLPRO48-FW) is the official OEM linear LED fixture engineered specifically for 48-Inch (4-Foot) Freshwater Community Displays, African Cichlid Tanks, and Riverine Biotopes.
Spanning 48 inches, the RB-LLPRO48-FW delivers continuous, end-to-edge illumination that highlights the natural beauty of freshwater fish and hardscapes. Fitted with a dense array of surface-mount micro-LEDs, the fixture emits a balanced ~6,500K–7,000K natural daylight spectrum. This high-CRI illumination reveals the vivid red coloration of discus, electric blues of Lake Malawi cichlids, and metallic iridescence of schooling tetras without washed-out yellow tones or overly cool blue distortion. Because the light source extends across the entire 4-foot footprint, it eliminates localized hot spots and softens harsh shadows throughout the aquarium. The fixture is encased in an ultra-slim, black anodized aircraft-grade aluminum extrusion that functions as a continuous passive heatsink, operating completely silently and directing heat upward away from the water column without mechanical cooling fans.
Ideal Application & Upgrade Scenarios
If you maintain a 55-, 75-, or 90-gallon freshwater display where you want crisp, natural daylight to showcase fish and hardscape without high-intensity PAR that triggers algae blooms, if you are upgrading from outdated T8 or T5 fluorescent canopy fixtures to low-profile LEDs, or if you need clean supplemental daylight fill across a 4-foot aquarium, the RB-LLPRO48-FW provides an efficient, plug-and-play lighting solution.

Installation & Operating Guidelines:
Carefully unpack the fixture and inspect the 48-inch aluminum housing, DC lead cord, and power adapter for transit damage.
Choose your mounting configuration:
Tank Rim Mounting: Slide the adjustable stainless steel legs into the side extrusion channels at both ends of the fixture and adjust to fit securely over your tank's perimeter rim.
Canopy Mounting: Fasten the light bar to the underside of your canopy framework using mounting clips or L-brackets, ensuring the LED surface remains at least 2 to 4 inches above the water level.
Position the fixture so the micro-diodes project directly downward across the entire aquarium footprint.
Connect the barrel plug from the fixture's lead cord into the female receptacle of the included DC power supply (or install an optional inline dimmer/controller module inline).
Route the power cord with a drip loop below the electrical receptacle to stop water droplets from tracking into the wall socket.
Connect the power supply to an AC wall outlet, digital timer, or smart energy bar.
Set your preferred photoperiod (typically 7 to 9 hours for community and cichlid displays).
Pro Tips:
- Fine-Tune Daylight Intensity with an Inline Dimmer. In fish-only or cichlid displays without living plants, full light output over long viewing periods can promote nuisance brown diatom or green dust algae on rocks and glass. Adding an inline rotary dimmer or Reef Brite Bluetooth controller allows you to dial intensity down to 60%–75%. This level provides crisp, natural viewing of fish coloration while keeping hardscape stones clean between water changes.
- Clean the Acrylic Splash Guard Regularly. In freshwater aquariums with active aeration or surface agitation from large filters, fine water droplets can deposit mineral film and lime dust onto the fixture's protective lens. Every two to three weeks, unplug the fixture and wipe the acrylic cover gently with a soft microfiber cloth dampened with pure RO/DI water or dilute white vinegar. Keeping the lens clean preserves maximum light transmission and prevents mineral etching.
