Reef Brite Splitter 1-3 Way
SKU: RB-13WAY
- Centralized Power Distribution: Consolidates electrical wiring by splitting a single DC power transformer or controller channel into three individual outputs.
- Synchronous Multi-Light Control: Allows up to three Reef Brite XHO, LumiLite, or Tech LED strip lights to be powered and dimmed simultaneously from one supply or automation interface.
- Direct OEM Fit & Plug-and-Play: Factory-molded DC barrel connectors provide a secure, watertight mechanical fitment that prevents loose contacts and voltage arcing.
- Reduces Cable & Outlet Clutter: Eliminates the need for multiple bulky AC wall transformers and congested power strips beneath the aquarium stand.
- High-Purity Flexible Copper Wiring: Built with heavy-gauge, marine-grade insulated multi-strand copper to minimize DC line resistance and voltage drop across all three branches.

Reef Brite 1-to-3 Way DC Power Splitter Cable
Running multiple supplemental LED strip lights across an aquarium—such as front, center, and rear actinic bars over a display tank or multi-tier frag system—often leads to a tangle of power cords, multiple bulky AC adapters, and crowded power strips. The Reef Brite Splitter 1-3 Way (SKU: RB-13WAY) is the official OEM multi-light DC power distribution cable engineered specifically for Reef Brite XHO, LumiLite, and Tech LED Fixtures.
The RB-13WAY features a single female DC barrel input jack that branches cleanly into three male DC barrel output connectors with molded strain reliefs. This architecture allows aquarists to power up to three separate Reef Brite LED light fixtures from a single high-output power transformer, reducing outlet consumption and streamlining cabinet wire management. When placed downstream of a Reef Brite rotary dimmer, Bluetooth LE Controller (RB-BT-CTRL), or Apex 0–10V Interface (RB-APEX-INT), the splitter distributes the control signal equally across all three connected fixtures, ensuring uniform dimming, gradual sunrise/sunset ramp-ups, and synchronized actinic moonlight schedules without needing separate controllers for each light bar.
Ideal Application & Expansion Scenarios
If you are adding a third XHO strip light to an existing two-light hybrid setup, powering three small nano strip lights from a single central transformer, or consolidating multiple power bricks in a crowded equipment cabinet, installing an authentic RB-13WAY provides a clean, factory-grade wiring solution.
(Note: When using the RB-13WAY, ensure that the total combined wattage and amperage of all three connected LED fixtures does not exceed the maximum rated output of your DC power supply).

Installation & Sizing Guidelines:
Calculate the total combined wattage of the three LED fixtures you plan to connect (e.g., three 24-inch XHO strips at ~27W each = ~81W total).
Verify that your DC power supply’s rated output wattage and amperage exceed this total wattage with at least a 10%–15% safety margin.
Unplug the DC power supply from the AC wall outlet before connecting any cables.
If utilizing an inline dimmer, Reef Brite Bluetooth module (RB-BT-CTRL), or Apex interface (RB-APEX-INT), connect the controller output into the single female input jack of the RB-13WAY. If running full-power without dimming, connect the power supply lead directly into the female jack.
Plug each of the three male barrel outputs from the RB-13WAY securely into the DC power lead of each respective Reef Brite light fixture.
Press all barrel connectors firmly together until the rubber boots butt flush against one another to maintain a tight connection.
Route all cables neatly, using zip-ties and establishing drip loops below the level of the connections to prevent moisture travel.
Reconnect the DC power supply to the AC wall outlet and confirm that all three strip lights illuminate evenly.
Pro Tips:
- Always Verify Total Power Supply Wattage Before Splitting. The RB-13WAY distributes electrical current, but it does not generate power. Standard single-light Reef Brite power supplies are sized specifically for one fixture. For example, if you connect three 48-inch XHO strips (~54W each = ~162W total) to a power supply originally supplied with a single 48-inch light, the power supply will overheat, cycle off on thermal protection, or fail. Always upgrade to a higher-wattage power transformer rated to handle the combined load of all three light bars.
- Protect Barrel Connections Inside Humid Canopies. When installing the RB-13WAY inside an enclosed canopy or directly above open sump water, salt spray and high humidity can cause minor electrolytic oxidation inside DC barrel plugs over time. Wrap each joined barrel connection with self-fusing silicone tape or heat-shrink tubing to create a moisture-proof seal that prevents corrosion and preserves optimal conductivity.
