    • 100% Genuine OEM Factory Part: Manufactured directly by Reef Octopus as an exact drop-in structural match to swap out cracked, dropped, or heavily calcified collection cups.
    • Commercial-Grade Cast Acrylic: Constructed from a robust, optical-grade acrylic matrix that completely resists yellowing and brittle breakdown under prolonged exposure to aggressive ozone or salt air.
    • Pre-Tapped Gravity Drain Port: Features an integrated waste output port designed to channel dark liquid skimmate straight into a secondary waste collector box or remote drain line.
    • Refined Foam Directional Guide: Incorporates a custom inner collar slope designed to gently condense rising waste bubbles, transforming them into heavy liquid skim without neck turbulence.
    • Explicit Internal Series Alignment: Specially dimensioned to press-fit cleanly onto the 140mm (5.5-inch) neck track of the SRO-5000INT in-sump skimmer chassis.

Reef Octopus SRO-5000 In-Sump Replacement Collection Cup (SKU: ROP-CC-SRO5000)

The Reef Octopus SRO-5000 In-Sump Replacement Collection Cup (SKU: ROP-CC-SRO5000) is an authentic, structural OEM component distributed by CoralVue to sustain flawless waste fractionation inside large-scale internal protein skimmers. Internal skimmers handle intense air backpressure generated by the high-volume 45W Bubble Blaster HY-5000s pump matrix, which forces an immense volume of micro-bubbles up into the collection riser. Over years of heavy-duty operation, accidental drops into the sink during maintenance cleanings, harsh impact damage, or micro-fractures along the bottom neck joint can cause structural failure or unsightly cosmetic clouding. Swapping out a compromised cup instantly restores a secure friction-seal over your skimmer's neck, trapping foul-smelling waste and processing wastewater cleanly inside the reservoir.

Molded to meet meticulous factory edge specifications, this heavy-duty cup features a 250mm (9.9-inch) outer bowl diameter paired with an integrated 140mm inner riser neck. The bottom neck sleeve features a precise taper that slides tightly over your primary skimmer body flange. Equipped with a molded lower outlet nozzle, it lets users attach standard flexible line hosing to divert concentrated waste proteins directly into an external locker before it can build up, break down, and unexpectedly ruin your aquarium's water parameter stability.

    Key Features

    • Eliminates Volatile Sump Cabinet Salt Creep: Re-establishes a flush, true seating connection against the internal skimmer neck, keeping dry equipment zones and equipment walls safely protected.

    • Simplifies Periodic Servicing: Precision slip-neck sizing provides a smooth, tool-free lift mechanism, letting you pull the cup away for deep cleaning without shaking the entire skimmer column.

    • 100% Saltwater-Inert Safety Line: Built from premium cast acrylic that will never leach manufacturing chemical stabilizers, toxins, or color residues into delicate coral reef setups.

    • (Note: This retail SKU contains (1) individual SRO-5000 cast acrylic collection cup with a built-in drain nozzle. Plastic drain valves, collection cup lids, neck cleaners, and primary skimmer body towers are sold under separate product categories).

    1. Unplug your Bubble Blaster HY-5000s pump engine to collapse the rising foam column inside the skimmer body.
    2. Grip the wide outer rim of your old collection cup firmly with both hands, twist gently back and forth, and lift it straight upward and away from the neck of the skimmer column.
    3. The Critical Neck Cleaning Step: Inspect the receiving neck track on the main skimmer column. Use a soft towel dipped in warm vinegar to thoroughly wipe down the inner and outer connection rings to clear away any thick organic mud, dried salt crust, or calcified scale.
    4. Retrieve your fresh ROP-CC-SRO5000 collection cup from its box. If you are using a remote waste locker, push your flexible drain line tubing onto the barbed output nozzle at the base of the new cup.
    5. Align the center neck ring of the new replacement cup with the top opening of your skimmer body. Press downward firmly and evenly until the cup seats completely flat and level against the shoulder stop.
    6. Place your collection cup lid back over the top of the bowl rim, double-check that your waste drain line valve is open, restore power to your pump systems, and resume high-performance protein skimming.

    Pro Tips:

    • Never Mistake This Internal Cup for the Specialized SRO-5000EXT External Version. Because Reef Octopus balances the internal air-handling dynamics of their skimmers tightly, it is incredibly easy to select the wrong replacement cup variant by mistake. While both models feature a 10-inch body hull and identical internal neck sizes, the SRO-5000EXT external model and the SRO-5000INT internal model utilize completely different collection cup heights and neck connection slopes to account for internal sump vs. out-of-sump external cabinet plumbing constraints. To ensure a flush, airtight, and leak-free compression fit over your in-sump model, always confirm your unit matches the internal profile design.
    • Never Scrub the Cast Acrylic Core with Rough Kitchen Scratch Pads. Because this high-end replacement component is engineered from optical-grade cast acrylic to give you a clear view of your skimmer's waste output, it can scratch easily if handled incorrectly. Cleaning the inside of the collection cup neck with stiff wire brushes, rough green kitchen scratch pads, or coarse paper towels will leave micro-hairline scratches across the plastic. These micro-scratches trap organic slime faster, cloud the acrylic surface, and make it much more difficult for waste bubbles to slide up into the collection bowl. Always use a soft microfiber towel or a smooth sponge with warm, fresh water during your weekly cup cleanings.
    • Execute a Monthly Hot Water Rinse Down the Drain Port to Stop Waste Crusting. The dark organic skimmate pushed out of your display tank by the HY-5000s pump matrix is packed with highly concentrated, sticky proteins and fish lipids. As this heavy waste fluid flows over the neck and out through the bottom barbed drain nozzle, thin layers of organic sludge will naturally bake onto the inside of the narrow drain hole. If left unmanaged for a few months, this waste will dry into a hard, rubbery clog that completely plugs up the line, causing the collection cup to unexpectedly overflow. Make it a routine habit during your weekly cup maintenance to pour a cup of boiling-hot fresh water straight down the drain port to flush away any organic sludge.
