    • Direct OEM Canister Fit: Factory-original replacement sealing O-ring designed specifically for standard 10-inch prefilter and deionization housings on IceCap RO/DI systems. Replacement O-Ring for the IceCap Reverse Osmosis Canister.
    • Watertight Compression Seal: Forms a dependable, high-pressure seal between the threaded canister bowl and the mounting head, eliminating rim weeping and leaks under line pressure.
    • Chemical- & Salt-Resistant Elastomer: Molded from durable, food-grade synthetic rubber that resists degradation from chlorine, chloramines, dissolved minerals, and ambient humidity.
    • Restores Hassle-Free Canister Changes: Replaces flattened, stretched, or pinched O-rings to ensure smooth threading and easy unscrewing during filter cartridge swaps.
    • Broad System Compatibility: Fits sediment, carbon block, and DI resin canister bowls across all IceCap 4-Stage and Smart RO/DI filtration platforms.

IceCap Reverse Osmosis Replacement Canister O-Ring

Reverse osmosis and deionization filtration systems operate under continuous water pressure ranging from 40 to over 90 PSI. Containing this pressure across standard 10-inch prefilter and resin housings relies entirely on the elastomeric seal between the clear or solid canister bowl and the molded top cap. The IceCap Reverse Osmosis Canister O-ring (SKU: IP-RI-CAN-OR) is the official OEM replacement perimeter sealing gasket engineered specifically for IceCap Reverse Osmosis and RO/DI Systems.

During routine maintenance—such as replacing 5-micron sediment prefilters, solid carbon blocks, or color-changing mixed-bed DI resin cartridges—canister housings must be unscrewed and reseated. Over time, recurring friction, dry installation, and continuous hydraulic compression cause factory O-rings to flatten, stretch out of their seating channel, or pinch along the threads. A damaged or compressed gasket will weep water down the side of the canister, create puddles in fish rooms, or draw micro-bubbles into the system under line fluctuations. Installing a fresh IP-RI-CAN-OR gasket restores a reliable, watertight seal and prevents accidental flooding.

    Ideal Replacement Scenario

If your RO/DI filter canister drips or weeps water along the top collar threads when pressurized, if the existing O-ring has stretched and slips out of its groove during cartridge changes, or if the rubber shows signs of flattening, cracking, or pinching, installing the authentic IP-RI-CAN-OR returns the housing to leak-free factory performance.

    Installation & Replacement Guidelines:

    1. Shut off the cold-water feed supply to your RO/DI system and open the output line to depressurize the unit.

    2. Using a standard RO canister wrench, loosen and spin off the filter housing bowl requiring maintenance.

    3. Remove the exhausted filter cartridge and pour out residual water from the bowl.

    4. Carefully lift out the old O-ring using your fingers or a dull, non-marring plastic pick (do not use sharp metal screwdrivers to avoid scoring the acrylic groove).

    5. Clean the perimeter O-ring groove and the female threads with a clean microfiber cloth to remove sand grit, scale, or slime.

    6. Apply a thin coating of 100% pure food-grade silicone lubricant along the circumference of the new IP-RI-CAN-OR.

    7. Seat the O-ring evenly into the housing channel, pressing down lightly to verify it is completely flat without twists or bunching.

    8. Insert the replacement filter cartridge, hand-thread the canister onto the cap until snug, and apply a gentle 1/8 to 1/4 turn with the wrench.

    9. Slowly turn on the feedwater supply and check the housing perimeter for a watertight seal.

    Pro Tips:

    • Always Lubricate with Food-Grade Silicone Grease. Never install an RO canister O-ring dry. Friction during housing rotation can catch a dry O-ring, bunching or twisting it out of the groove and slicing the rubber as the threads close. A light coating of 100% pure silicone lubricant allows the canister bowl to glide smoothly against the gasket for a compression seal.
    • Hand-Tighten First—Use the Wrench Sparingly. The canister wrench is designed primarily for loosening stubborn housings, not for high-torque tightening. Over-tightening with a wrench crushes the O-ring flat, strips polymer threads, and can cause the canister neck to fracture under pressure. Thread the canister firmly by hand until the O-ring engages, then use the wrench for no more than an additional 1/8 to 1/4 turn.
