Within the IceCap dosing reservoir, this internal rigid tube connects directly to the underside of the lid push-fit bulkhead fitting and extends to the base floor of the vessel. This allows external peristaltic dosing pumps to draw fluids smoothly from the bottom of the container without leaving behind unused supplement volumes. Over time, rigid acrylic dip tubes can become brittle, crack from accidental impacts during refills, or develop heavy mineral precipitate rings from concentrated alkaline solutions. Installation & Replacement Guidelines:
Disconnect the external dosing pump tubing from the top lid push-fit fitting and remove the container lid.
Depress the release collet on the push-fit connector located on the underside of the lid and pull out the old or damaged suction tube.
Rinse the new IP-LCT-TUBM tube in fresh RO/DI water to clear any residual dust.
Push the top end of the replacement tube firmly into the underside collet fitting until fully seated.
Lower the lid assembly back onto the 2.5L container body, secure the top, and reconnect the external dosing pump lines.
Pro Tips:
- Verify Intake Floor Clearance. Ensure the tube seats fully into the lid fitting so it does not press flat against the bottom acrylic base. Maintaining a small clearance gap prevents the tube mouth from suctioning against the reservoir floor and restricting fluid draw.
- Dissolve Mineral Scale with Citric Acid. Concentrated alkalinity additives (such as sodium bicarbonate and sodium carbonate) naturally precipitate mineral rings inside narrow draw tubes over time. Soak the dip tube in a warm citric acid bath during routine reservoir refills to dissolve scale and maintain unrestricted dosing flow.
