The IceCap 36XL, 48XL LID 2 (SKU: IC-SUMP-LID-3648XL-2) is the official OEM replacement acrylic cover panel designed specifically for the IceCap 36XL and IceCap 48XL Reef Sump models. As part of IceCap's modular multi-piece lid system, Section #2 covers the corresponding chamber area to provide a clean, flush seal over your sump.
Precision-molded from thick, high-clarity acrylic, LID 2 features recessed edges that fit securely onto the internal rim of 36XL and 48XL sumps. It includes cutouts for easy lifting during routine dosing, testing, or equipment adjustments. Covering your sump chamber significantly reduces operational noise from bubbling water while protecting sensitive electronic stand components from corrosive salt spray.
Modular Sump Cover System
IceCap XL series sumps utilize a sectional lid configuration so aquarists can lift individual panels without removing the entire top assembly. LID 2 is engineered to lock into position #2 along the top rim layout.

Installation & Set-Up Guidelines:
Clean the top acrylic rim and lip of your IceCap 36XL or 48XL sump to remove salt creep or detritus.
Identify position #2 on your sump's top rim (refer to your sump's original user diagram).
Lower the IC-SUMP-LID-3648XL-2 panel onto the recessed rim until it sits flush.
Utilize the integrated finger access hole to lift the lid section whenever servicing equipment or dosing supplements in that chamber.
Pro Tips:
Prevent Acrylic Warping. Acrylic lids placed directly above warm sump water can experience slight thermal expansion over time. Periodically flip the lid section upside down during routine water changes if you notice minor bowing, allowing ambient air to equalize the panel.
Clean with Microfiber Only. To preserve high clarity and prevent surface scratches, clean the acrylic lid using a soft microfiber cloth with warm freshwater or specialized acrylic cleaner. Never use household glass cleaners containing ammonia on sump acrylic.
