The first-generation IceCap Reef Sump 30 features an integrated 5.5-gallon freshwater reservoir situated alongside the filtration chambers. Without a secure, form-fitting cover, vigorous bubbling from the adjacent protein skimmer and drain socks can cast fine salt mist directly into the freshwater reservoir, elevating the TDS of pure top-off water before it ever reaches the tank. Additionally, open water surfaces accelerate cabinet evaporation, exposing internal stand framing and sensitive electrical controllers to persistent moisture. Lid 2 rests squarely within the recessed acrylic lip of the reservoir chamber, sealing the water volume while accommodating top-off pump wires and tubing through designated edge cutouts. Installation & Replacement Guidelines:
Lift out and discard any remaining fragments of the old or damaged lid plate.
Wipe the recessed perimeter channel of the sump’s reservoir chamber with a damp microfiber cloth to remove salt crust or dust.
Rinse the new IP-RS30-L2 acrylic cover plate under fresh RO/DI water to clear packing dust and dry with a soft cloth.
Align the cord and tubing relief cutouts with the cables and hoses leading from your submerged ATO refill pump.
Lower the lid squarely into the recessed perimeter ledge, verifying that it seats flat without pinching wires or tubing.

- Clean Only with Diluted Citric Acid or RO/DI Water. Cast acrylic will permanently craze and develop microscopic spiderweb fractures if exposed to window cleaners, alcohol wipes, or ammonia sprays. When placing the lid over an active top-off pump line, verify that the 1/4-inch polyethylene or silicone tubing passes freely through the pre-cut notch rather than being pinned under the acrylic frame.
