30-Inch Reef Sump with Skimmer Chamber, ATO Reservoir, and Dual Drain Bulkheads
The Reef Octopus Octo 30A (OCT-OS30A) is a machine-cut solid acrylic reef sump measuring 29.92 x 15.75 x 15.75in. It is built with four dedicated chambers: a protein skimmer and reactor chamber, a return pump chamber, a freshwater ATO reservoir, and a bubble-diffusing intake chamber. Each chamber is purpose-sized and positioned to keep equipment organized and accessible without modification.
The skimmer chamber measures 14.6 x 12.6in and accommodates a wide range of Reef Octopus skimmers up to 200-size. The return pump chamber measures 9.4 x 7.2in. The ATO reservoir holds 4.7 gallons and includes a lid to slow evaporation. The bubble-diffusing intake chamber also includes a lid to contain salt creep and reduce microbubbles reaching the display tank. Two 1in drain bulkheads handle inflow from the display.
Water depth inside the sump is adjustable from 5.1in to 9in, making it straightforward to dial in the correct skimmer operating depth without raising or shimming equipment. A built-in filter sock holder accommodates standard mechanical filtration. All OCT-OS30A units are also built to accept the Klir Fleece Filter Di-4 automatic roller filter (sold separately) for hands-off mechanical filtration.

- Run the ATO reservoir lid at all times. The included lid slows evaporation from the freshwater reservoir and reduces salt creep contamination into the ATO water supply. Keeping it closed between refills extends the interval between top-offs and protects ATO sensors from corrosive splash.
- Add the Klir Di-4 before stocking the system. Installing the Klir Fleece Filter Di-4 during initial setup is easier than retrofitting it after the sump is plumbed and equipment is in place. The OCT-OS30A is built to accept it without modification — plan for it from the start if automatic mechanical filtration is on your list.

This Standard Limited Warranty applies and is limited as follows:
- To the product only as long as it remains in the possession of the original purchaser.
- To the product that has not been subject to accident, misuse or abuse.
- To the product that has not been modified, altered, defaced, or had repairs made or attempted by other than CoralVue, Inc.
- That CoralVue be immediately notified in writing within ten (10) days of first knowledge of defect by owner or his agent.
- That CoralVue, Inc. shall be given first opportunity to make any repairs, replacements or corrections to the defective construction within a reasonable period of time.
- Under no circumstances shall CoralVue and/or the Manufacturer be liable by virtue of this warranty or otherwise for damage to any person or property whatsoever for any special, indirect, secondary or consequential damages of any nature however arising out of the use or inability to use because of the product defect.
Instructions:
- Place the OCT-OS30A in the aquarium cabinet or equipment area. Confirm the cabinet can support the full weight of the sump when filled with water and equipment.
- Connect the two 1in drain bulkheads to your display tank drain lines. The OCT-OS30A includes dual 1in bulkheads for split or single drain configurations.
- Set the water depth adjustment to match the recommended operating depth for your protein skimmer before adding water. The adjustable range is 5.1-9in.
- Place your protein skimmer in the skimmer chamber (14.6 x 12.6in). Connect the skimmer pump and confirm clearance within the chamber.
- Place the return pump in the return pump chamber (9.4 x 7.2in) and connect the return line to the display tank.
- Fill the ATO reservoir with fresh RO/DI water and connect your ATO system. Place the reservoir lid to slow evaporation between refills.
- Install a filter sock in the built-in filter sock holder in the intake chamber. Alternatively, if using the Klir Fleece Filter Di-4, install it per the Klir installation instructions before adding water.
- Seat the bubble-diffusing intake chamber lid to reduce microbubbles and salt creep.
- Fill the sump to the desired operating water depth and confirm all bulkhead connections are secure before powering on the return pump and skimmer.
- Monitor water levels and skimmer performance during the first 24 hours. Make gate valve or speed adjustments as needed once stable flow is confirmed.
