A Higher-Flow Water Pump for Mid-Size Systems
The IceCap EVO 2000 steps up from the EVO 1000 with double the flow rate, still built to be compact, quiet, and energy-efficient for both freshwater and saltwater aquariums. It can be used as a return pump, to provide flow to a media reactor, to feed an algae scrubber, or for other general water-moving tasks in the system.
Delivering up to 528 GPH with 6ft of maximum head height, the EVO 2000 suits mid-size aquariums or applications with a taller plumbing run than the EVO 1000 can comfortably handle.
Key Features:
- Delivers up to 528 GPH of flow, double the EVO 1000
- Maximum head height of 6 ft
- Runs on 30 watts for efficient continuous operation
- Same compact 5 x 3.75 x 4.5in footprint as the EVO 1000
- 1/2–3/4in hose barb outlet fits standard aquarium plumbing
- Suitable for both freshwater and marine aquariums
Ideal For:
- Mid-size aquarium return pump applications
- Systems with a taller sump-to-display plumbing run
- Feeding a media reactor or algae scrubber that needs more flow than the EVO 1000 provides
Pro Tips:
- Match head height to your plumbing run. With a 6ft maximum head, the EVO 2000 handles taller vertical lifts better than the EVO 1000.
- Check your outlet size before plumbing in. The 1/2–3/4in hose barb outlet fits most standard tubing without extra adapters.

Installation & Set-Up Guidelines:
Attach the base plate with suction feet onto the bottom tracks of the EVO 2000 pump motor block.
Thread the stepped 1/2" – 3/4" hose barb fitting onto the pump discharge port.
Submerge the pump completely into your sump, rear filtration chamber, or water reservoir.
Push flexible vinyl tubing onto the hose barb fitting and secure it with a plastic ratchet hose clamp.
Plug the 110V AC power cord into an electrical outlet or power strip, creating a safety drip loop in the cord.
Pro Tips:
- Create a Power Cord Drip Loop. Because the EVO 2000 plugs directly into a standard 110V AC outlet, always ensure the power cord droops lower than the wall outlet. This prevents stray water droplets from traveling down the cord into the electrical socket.
- Soak in Vinegar During Routine Maintenance. Every 3 to 6 months, unplug the pump, remove the front cover and magnetic rotor, and soak them in warm white vinegar or citric acid solution. Clearing calcium and detritus prevents rotor drag and keeps operation quiet.
