IceCap Coral Frag Transport Container — 8 Plugs (IC-CFC8)
The IceCap Coral Frag Transport Container (SKU: IC-CFC8) is an authentic, multi-functional livestock travel system distributed by CoralVue to safely protect and transport delicate coral specimens between local swap meets, aquarium shows, and retail facilities. Commuting with newly purchased marine corals using traditional plastic bags or flimsy take-out cups is highly risky. Rough roads cause loose plugs to slide around violently, bruising fragile tissue edges, snapping stony skeleton structures, or trapping coral flesh upside-down against toxic plastic films. The IC-CFC8 resolves these transit dangers by introducing a rugged, completely water-tight transport jar paired with an advanced internal stabilization grid.
Inside this heavy-duty, 500ml container sits a circular high-density tray capable of organizing up to 8 individual coral frags simultaneously. Rather than relying on simple loose-fitting holes, every plug slot is lined with an innovative, flexible rubber membrane. This snug seal grips a wide variety of aftermarket plug stem thicknesses, keeping your investments locked securely in place even during bumpy car rides. The center of the rack is engineered with a tall handle post, making it effortless to drop or lift your loaded tray without dipping your fingers into messy water columns. When you return to your home aquarium, this versatile container serves as a convenient standalone dipping vessel, streamlining your quarantine procedure before new frags reach your main display.
Key Features
Built-In Dipping Station Compatibility: The compact 500ml fluid basin is perfectly sized for targeted pest treatments, letting you bathe and disinfect your new arrivals with minimal chemical waste.
Protects Sensitive Tissue Sections: Elevated structural feet ensure your frag plugs remain floating neatly above the jar's bottom floor, shielding base encrustations from impact damage.
Universal Plug Accommodation: Adaptive internal membrane cutouts compress and expand to firmly steady thick ceramic mounts, plastic grids, or natural rubble stem slices.
(Note: This premium transport assembly includes the standalone leak-proof storage container jar and the removable 8-plug stabilizer tray with integrated handle post. Magnetic tank brackets are sold under separate product categories).

- Unbox your IC-CFC8 travel jar. Unscrew the top lid and pull the circular insert tray straight up using the flat central handle post.
- Push your coral frag plugs firmly down into the numerically labeled holes. Ensure the stem slides past the flexible interior rubber membranes until the base of the plug sits flush against the tray face.
- Fill the clear container jar with clean water from the source aquarium up to the marked fill lines, leaving enough head space to prevent overflowing when the corals are lowered into place.
- Grab the center handle post and lower the loaded frag tray slowly down into the jar. Screw the gasket lid down clockwise until it forms a tight, secure seal.
- Once home, unscrew the lid, lift the post to verify the health of your corals, and use the container jar as a clean vessel to mix your favorite coral pest dip solution.
- Clean the container thoroughly with fresh tap water after use, let it air dry completely, and thread the lid back on loosely to preserve the rubber gasket during storage.
Pro Tips:
- Convert the Internal Tray Into an In-Tank Frag Rack with the Optional Magnetic Mount. The utility of your IC-CFC8 doesn't have to end once you arrive home. IceCap offers a matching magnetic mount bracket (SKU: IC-MBT8, sold separately) that fits right inside your aquarium. Instead of cluttering your tank by moving fragile new corals onto a completely different staging area, you can lift the entire loaded tray straight out of your travel jar and snap it directly onto the magnetic in-tank bracket. This limits moving shock and allows your new corals to rest comfortably until you're ready to mount them permanently.
- Utilize the Built-In 500ml Volume Lines to Mix Highly Accurate Coral Pest Dips. Guessing your water volume in a generic bucket can easily lead to under-dosing or over-dosing expensive coral dip solutions, which can either leave pests alive or accidentally bleach sensitive coral tissue. Because this container features clear volumetric markings up to 500ml right on the side of the clear wall, you can easily mix the exact manufacturer-recommended dosage of pest treatments right inside the travel cup, keeping your dipping process precise and safe.
- Always Dry the External Lid Threads Fully Before Packing Your Bag to Avoid Trapping Moisture. While the internal rubber gasket forms a reliable, leak-proof seal inside the cup rim, splashing water during a busy swap can easily get trapped within the outer plastic screw threads of the lid. To keep stray salt water from dripping onto your car upholstery or packing bags, always give the outer rim a quick wipe with a dry towel after screwing the lid down.
