IceCap Small 1.5L Liquid Dosing Storage Container (IC-LCT-S)
The IceCap Small 1.5L Dosing Container (SKU: IC-LCT-S) is an authentic, premium-grade supplement storage reservoir distributed by CoralVue to simplify water chemical management in automated marine reef aquariums and high-tech freshwater planted tanks. Successfully keeping corals or delicate aquatic flora requires a non-stop, consistent addition of fundamental building blocks like Calcium, Carbonate Alkalinity, and Magnesium. Letting these values bounce around or pouring manually from heavy product bottles creates parameter instability that stunts growth. While automated dosing pumps successfully solve the scheduling, feeding them directly from unstable commercial supplement packaging causes cramped cabinets and kinked tubing line path blocks. The IC-LCT-S steps in to provide a rigid, organized, and space-conscious alternative.
Constructed in a compact 4.3 x 4.3-inch square baseline structure, this 1.5-liter (1500ml) reservoir holds plenty of volume while safely matching narrow, high-density cabinet footprints. The top lid features a wide opening to eliminate spilling during weekly refills. For plumbing ease, a premium 1/4" push-fit bulkhead fitting sits centered directly on the upper cap, running an internal acrylic straw all the way down to the container's bottom floor. Simply push your standard flexible dosing line directly into the top sleeve to form an airtight, leak-proof seal that effectively stops priming failure backpressure. By helping keep your cabinet area completely clean and organized, the IceCap Dosing Container lets you run advanced dosing programs like the Balling or Triton method seamlessly.
Key Features
Prevents Line De-Priming: Airtight top bulkhead gaskets block sneaky air channels from leaking back down into your lines, stopping siphon dropbacks that trick dosing pump calibration.
Optimized Draw-Efficiency: Beveled bottom placement on the internal draw tube ensures your pump siphons every single drop out of the chamber before needing a refill.
Anti-Slide Stability Face: Rigid geometric lines prevent the tip-over hazards typical of round bottles when accidental bumps occur inside tight sump setups.
(Note: This catalog item covers one individual 1.5-liter small dosing canister shell. Perimeter dosing pump nodes, colored line sets, and liquid chemicals are sold under separate item listings).

- Unbox your IC-LCT-S container and rinse the internal chamber with fresh RO/DI water to clear out any packing static or transit dust. Do not clean using household abrasive chemical sprays.
- Pour your prepared liquid supplement (such as a 2-part Calcium mix, soda ash Alkalinity solution, or trace element blend) straight into the wide-mouth opening, filling up to the top neck line.
- Push the lid firmly down over the main container body to establish a snug, secure fit against atmospheric dust and evaporation.
- Take the 1/4-inch outer diameter input line running from your dosing pump and insert it straight down into the top push-fit bulkhead port. Push until you feel the inner lock teeth grab the tubing securely.
- Manually prime your dosing pump until the liquid climbs all the way up the internal straw and fills the flexible line with no remaining bubbles.
- Slide the compact container into its permanent space underneath your cabinet stand, keeping the lines clear of your sump's high-flow water splash zone.
Pro Tips:
- Label the Outside Front of Each Container Clearly with a Paint Pen or Tape. When you line up multiple identical 1.5L IceCap containers under your stand for a full 2-part or 3-part dosing method, the liquids inside will often look exactly the same (clear water-like solutions). Accidentally hooking up your Alkalinity line to your Calcium container will cause intense chemical precipitation that turns your container cloudy and swings your tank parameters rapidly. Always write or tape bright label tags onto the front faces before popping the lines into place.
- Keep the Top Lid Vapor Vent Pinhole Clear of Salt Creep or Crust. Every high-end dosing container features a microscopic breathing hole or loose fit tolerances on the lid rim to allow air to displace the liquid being sucked out by the pump. If you are storing concentrated solutions that easily crust over (like high-alkalinity soda ash), check the lid every few months to make sure dried salt crystals haven't completely clogged this air escape path. If the vent seals shut, your dosing pump will pull a hard vacuum inside the canister, causing the line to choke or the dosing pump rollers to jam under stress.
- Do Not Force-Twist or Leverage Your Tubing When Removing Lines. The built-in 1/4" quick-connect push bulkhead makes hooking up lines incredibly easy, but yank-testing it to pull lines out can crack the acrylic lid housing. To safely release your dosing line, press down evenly on the small plastic collar (the collet) surrounding the tube while pulling the flexible line upward simultaneously. This instantly relaxes the internal metal lock teeth, letting your tubing slide out with zero resistance.
