IceCap Gyre 1K/2K/3K/4K Propeller Bushings (Pair)
Maintaining whisper-quiet performance and smooth water movement from crossflow wavemakers depends heavily on the condition of small dampening components. The IceCap Gyre Propeller Bushings (SKU: IP-GYPRBS) are the official OEM replacement rubber shaft seats designed specifically for IceCap 1K, 2K, 3K, and 4K Gyre Flow Pumps. Positioned at the outer ends of the propeller cages, these elastomeric bushings hold the metal ceramic shafts in precise alignment.
Over continuous operation in marine environments, original rubber bushings can harden, swell from calcium buildup, or easily slip down the sink drain during maintenance washing. Worn or missing bushings cause the crossflow paddle to wobble, leading to loud rattling noises, uneven motor strain, and reduced flow output. Replacing old bushings with an authentic IP-GYPRBS pair restores smooth shaft centering and vibration-free pump operation.
Ideal Replacement Scenario
If your IceCap Gyre pump has developed an operational hum, rattles when ramping up speed, or if an end bushing was lost during a routine maintenance soak, installing a fresh set of IP-GYPRBS bushings restores quiet factory performance.
(Note: Package includes (1) Pair / 2 Pieces of IceCap Replacement Gyre Propeller Shaft Bushings).
What’s Included:
(2) IceCap OEM Gyre Propeller Shaft Bushings (1 Pair)
Technical Specs:
SKU / Factory Part Identifier: IP-GYPRBS
Material: High-Grade Saltwater-Resistant Elastomeric Rubber
Quantity: 2 Bushings (1 Complete Pair)
Color: Standard OEM Black
Primary Compatibility: IceCap 1K, IceCap 2K, IceCap 3K, and IceCap 4K Gyre Flow Pumps
Installation & Replacement Guidelines:
Disconnect power to your IceCap Gyre controller and remove the pump unit from the aquarium.
Twist and slide off the outer directional flow cages to access the propeller assemblies.
Gently pull the crossflow propeller and ceramic shaft out of the cage housing.
Remove the old or damaged rubber bushings from the shaft end-seat pockets.
Push the new IP-GYPRBS rubber bushings firmly into place, reinsert the shaft and paddle, and reassemble the cage onto the motor block.
Pro Tips:
- Check Bushings During Every Citric Acid Soak. Whenever disassembling your Gyre pump for a quarterly vinegar or citric acid soak, inspect the rubber bushings for tears or hardening. Replacing stiff bushings before they degrade fully prevents shaft wobble and motor block wear.
- Clean End Pocket Recesses Before Fitting. Before sliding the new rubber bushings into place inside the cage endcaps, clean out any calcified detritus or algae buildup from the mounting recess. A clean seat allows the bushing to align true without twisting.
