Reef Octopus Super Reef Octopus XP8000 Full Cone Replacement Collection Cup (SKU: ROP-CC-XP8000)

The Reef Octopus Super Reef Octopus XP8000 Replacement Collection Cup with Red Accent (SKU: ROP-CC-XP8000) is an authentic, structural OEM component distributed by CoralVue to sustain flawless waste fractionation inside industrial-scale internal and external full-cone protein skimmers. Full-cone "volcano" skimmers eliminate structural backpressure bottlenecks, allowing the massive Bubble Blaster HY-10000s pump matrix to inject an immense 4000 L/H of air into the reaction column. When this highly turbulent organic froth overflows into the collection ring, the cup handles a massive daily volume of corrosive skimmate. Over years of intensive operation, accidental drops into the sink during a maintenance wash or micro-fractures along the bottom neck track can compromise the cup. Swapping out a worn cup instantly restores a secure friction-seal over your skimmer's 6-inch neck riser, keeping foul waste trapped safely inside the reservoir.

Molded to meet meticulous industrial layout tolerances, this heavy-duty cup features an oversized outer bowl profile paired with a specialized wide-neck base sleeve. Pushed down over the primary cone column flange, the high-tolerance fitment eliminates wobbling or micro-gaps. Equipped with an integrated lower outlet nozzle, it lets operators attach standard flexible line hosing to continuously divert massive volumes of concentrated organic waste straight into a secondary remote storage reservoir before it can overflow back into your high-volume marine ecosystem.

    Key Features

    • Eliminates Volatile Sump Cabinet Salt Creep: Re-establishes an airtight, watertight seating connection against the massive full-cone neck flange, keeping surrounding facility zones dry.

    • Simplifies Periodic Servicing: Sized for a smooth, tool-free vertical lift mechanism, letting you pull the heavy cup away for deep cleaning without shifting the entire skimmer installation.

    • 100% Saltwater-Inert Safety Line: Forged from optical cast acrylic and non-leaching polymer blends that will never release manufacturing chemical stabilizers or toxins into delicate live coral loops.

    • (Note: This retail SKU contains (1) individual SRO-XP8000 cast acrylic collection cup with red trim and a built-in drain nozzle. Collection cup lids, automated neck cleaners, waste lines, and primary skimmer body towers are sold under separate product categories).

    1. Unplug your massive Bubble Blaster HY-10000s pump engine to fully collapse the rising foam column inside the full conical skimmer body.
    2. Grip the thick outer rim of your old, worn collection cup firmly with both hands, twist gently back and forth, and lift it straight upward and away from the neck of the skimmer column.
    3. The Critical Neck Cleaning Step: Inspect the 6-inch receiving neck track on the main volcano column. Use a soft towel dipped in warm vinegar to thoroughly wipe down the inner and outer connection rings to clear away any thick organic mud, dried salt crust, or calcified scale.
    4. Retrieve your fresh ROP-CC-XP8000 collection cup from its box. Push your flexible drain line tubing onto the barbed output nozzle at the base of the red collar.
    5. Align the red base neck sleeve of the new replacement cup with the top opening of your skimmer body. Press downward firmly and evenly until the cup seats completely flat and level against the shoulder stop.
    6. Place your collection cup lid back over the top bowl rim, confirm that your waste drain line to your waste collector is entirely clear, restore power to your pump engine, and resume high-performance protein skimming.

    Pro Tips:

    • Never Mistake This Full-Cone Cup for the Standard SRO-8000EXT Cylinder Reservoir. Because Reef Octopus balances the internal air-handling dynamics of their large-scale skimmers tightly, it is incredibly easy to select the wrong replacement cup variant by mistake. While both commercial units possess a massive 16-inch lower footprint, the SRO-8000EXT is a traditional hybrid cylinder body that uses a wider 9-inch neck profile. This ROP-CC-XP8000 Red Cup is custom-profiled exclusively for the true, full-cone geometric layout of the XP8000 series, featuring a tighter 6-inch neck throat. Always check your skimmer body nameplate to verify it contains the XP full-cone designation before finalizing your system update.
    • Never Scrub the Cast Acrylic Core with Rough Kitchen Abrasive Pads. Because this high-end replacement component is engineered from optical-grade cast acrylic to give you a clear view of your skimmer's waste output, it can scratch easily if handled incorrectly. Cleaning the inside of the collection cup neck with stiff wire brushes, rough green kitchen scratch pads, or coarse paper towels will leave micro-hairline scratches across the plastic. These micro-scratches trap organic slime faster, cloud the acrylic surface, and make it much more difficult for waste bubbles to slide up into the collection bowl. Always use a soft microfiber towel or a smooth sponge with warm, fresh water during your weekly maintenance cleanings.
    • Execute a Bi-Weekly Hot Water Rinse Down the Drain Port to Stop Waste Crusting. The dark organic skimmate pushed out of massive commercial fish systems by the HY-1000s pump matrix is packed with highly concentrated, sticky proteins, fish lipids, and heavy particulates. As this thick waste fluid flows out through the bottom barbed drain nozzle, thin layers of organic sludge will rapidly bake onto the inside of the narrow drain hole. Because a commercial system pulls immense waste volumes, a hard organic clog can form unexpectedly, causing the large collection cup to overflow. Make it a strict routine habit every two weeks to pour a cup of boiling-hot fresh water straight down the drain port to flush away any organic sludge.
