20mm Metric Cross Fitting
The 20mm Metric Cross Fitting is a specialized junction component designed for high-precision water routing in marine and freshwater aquarium systems. Engineered specifically for 20mm Metric PVC pipe, this fitting serves as a compact 4-way hub, allowing a single intake to split into three directions or serving as a centralized collection point for multiple lines.
In custom reef tank plumbing, space is often the biggest constraint. This cross fitting eliminates the need for consecutive Tee fittings, significantly reducing the "footprint" of your manifold. Constructed from industrial-grade, saltwater-safe grey PVC, this fitting is frequently used in the repair or modification of Reef Octopus protein skimmers and specialized European-spec reactors. The smooth internal bore ensures consistent flow and minimizes the chances of detritus or calcium buildup at the junction.
Key Features
True Metric Calibration: Fits 20mm OD metric pipe—essential for maintaining factory Reef Octopus and Maxspect hardware.
Compact 4-Way Routing: Facilitates clean, organized plumbing in tight sump cabinets and filtration racks.
High-Impact PVC: Thick-walled construction designed to withstand the vibrations of aquarium pumps and high-velocity water flow.
Non-Toxic Materials: Safe for all aquatic life; will not leach harmful chemicals into the water column.
Deep Socket Design: All four slip-fit sockets provide maximum surface area for a secure, permanent solvent weld.
Ideal For
Custom Dosing Manifolds: Splitting a main feed into multiple reactor chambers or dosing ports.
Skimmer Repairs: Replacing or modifying the 20mm internal plumbing on Reef Octopus skimmer bodies.
Small Exhibit Life Support: Building intricate, professional-grade plumbing for nano and desktop aquarium systems.

What’s Included:
(1) 20mm Metric Cross Fitting
Specifications:
Size: 20mm
Configuration: 4-Way Cross
Connection Type: Slip x Slip x Slip x Slip (Socket)
Material: Industrial Grade Grey PVC
Compatibility: 20mm Metric Pipe ONLY
- Ensure the 20mm metric pipe is cut square and deburred thoroughly.
- Perform a dry-fit of all four ports to confirm your manifold alignment.
- Apply a thin layer of PVC primer to the pipe ends and the internal sockets of the cross.
- Apply a light coat of PVC solvent cement to both the pipe and the fitting.
- Insert the pipes into the cross with a quarter-turn to ensure even glue distribution.
- Hold firmly for 20 seconds. Allow at least 1 hour of cure time before introducing water.
- Verify Your Sizing. A 20mm metric fitting will not fit standard 1/2" or 3/4" USA pipe. 20mm is approximately 0.78 inches. Always use a caliper to confirm your pipe size before ordering to ensure compatibility with your existing metric system.
- Professional Finish. For a high-end "factory" look that matches Reef Octopus equipment, use clear PVC primer rather than purple. This keeps your grey fittings looking clean and free of messy stains.
- Flow Consideration. When using a cross as a distribution hub, be aware that the "straight-through" path will naturally have slightly higher pressure than the side ports. If perfectly even distribution is required, consider installing small ball valves on each branch to fine-tune the flow.
