    • Direct OEM Smart RO/DI Fit: Factory-original replacement low-pressure cutoff switch engineered specifically for the IceCap Smart RO/DI System and standalone IceCap Booster Pump Kits.
    • Prevents Booster Pump Dry-Run Burnout: Automatically cuts electrical power to the booster pump if municipal feed pressure drops below 5–7 PSI, protecting internal pump diaphragms from overheating.
    • Protects Against Supply Line Disruptions: Safeguards equipment if incoming tap water is accidentally turned off, line pressure sags, or sediment/carbon prefilters become completely blocked.
    • Integrated 1/4" Push-Connect Ports: Equipped with built-in 1/4-inch quick-connect fittings for fast, leak-free push-fit tubing installation without external adapters.
    • Pre-Terminated 2-Pin Wiring: Features the factory standard 2-pin wiring harness connector for plug-and-play electrical integration with booster pump control circuits.

IceCap Reverse Osmosis Replacement Low Pressure Switch

Diaphragm booster pumps are positive-displacement machines that rely on continuous incoming water flow to cool and lubricate their high-pressure internal seals. Running a booster pump without adequate feedwater creates excessive friction heat that quickly warps diaphragms and burns out motor windings. The IceCap Reverse Osmosis Low Pressure Switch (SKU: IP-RI-LS01) is the official OEM replacement inline safety sensor engineered specifically for IceCap Smart RO/DI Systems and IceCap Booster Pump assemblies.

Installed inline on the feedwater line between the prefilters and the booster pump inlet, the IP-RI-LS01 continuously measures incoming hydraulic line pressure. If the cold-water feed is shut off, if household pressure drops unexpectedly, or if prefilter sediment and carbon blocks become clogged with sediment, line pressure plunges. When line pressure falls below safe operational thresholds (approx. 5 to 7 PSI), the switch’s internal electrical contacts open, instantly breaking the circuit to the booster pump. Once adequate feedwater pressure is restored, the switch automatically resets and closes the circuit, resuming normal water production.

    Ideal Replacement Scenario

If your IceCap booster pump fails to engage despite having strong incoming tap water pressure, if the pump continues running even when the cold water supply valve is turned completely off (welded switch contacts), or if the plastic switch casing or push-connect collets have developed a pinhole leak, installing the authentic IP-RI-LS01 restores essential dry-run protection.

    Installation & Replacement Guidelines:

    1. Shut off the cold water supply valve feeding your RO/DI system and disconnect the booster pump power supply from the wall.

    2. Open the pure water product line to discharge any residual system pressure.

    3. Depress the release collets on both ends of the existing low-pressure switch and slide out the 1/4-inch PE tubing lines.

    4. Unplug the 2-pin electrical lead connecting the old switch to the booster pump harness.

    5. Inspect the cut ends of your 1/4-inch tubing; trim cleanly with a tube cutter if the ends are scratched or beveled.

    6. Firmly insert the tubing ends into the ports of the new IP-RI-LS01 until fully seated past the internal O-rings.

    7. Connect the 2-pin electrical plug into the booster pump wire harness.

    8. Slowly reopen the cold-water feed supply to pressurize the line, check for leaks around the collets, and restore electrical power.

    Pro Tips:

    • Always Install Downstream of Sediment and Carbon Prefilters. Mount the low-pressure switch directly after the carbon block stage but before the booster pump inlet. This placement protects the switch’s sensitive internal diaphragm from raw tap water grit and ensures that if prefilter cartridges ever foul and choke flow, the switch will sense the pressure drop and depower the pump before cavitation damage occurs.
    • Test the Cutoff Failsafe Quarterly. Every 3 to 4 months, verify that your low-pressure switch is functioning properly by closing your cold-water feed saddle valve while the booster pump is actively running. The booster pump should shut off within 2 to 3 seconds. If the pump continues to hum and spin without water, replace the switch immediately to avoid pump failure.
