CoralVue, Inc. and Reef Octopus hereby guarantee this product to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of:
- Five (5) year warranty on pump body/housing
- Three (3) year warranty on Reef Octopus-branded controller
- One (1) year warranty on Power Supply, Impeller (and components), Rotor, Rear Bushing, and Gaskets
Warranty is activated on the date of purchase.
This Standard Limited Warranty applies and is limited as follows:
- To the product only as long as it remains in the possession of the original purchaser.
- To the product that has not been subject to accident, misuse or abuse.
- To the product that has not been modified, altered, defaced, or had repairs made or attempted by other than CoralVue, Inc.
- That CoralVue be immediately notified in writing within ten (10) days of first knowledge of defect by owner or his agent.
- That CoralVue, Inc. shall be given first opportunity to make any repairs, replacements or corrections to the defective construction within a reasonable period of time.
- Under no circumstances shall CoralVue and/or the Manufacturer be liable by virtue of this warranty or otherwise for damage to any person or property whatsoever for any special, indirect, secondary or consequential damages of any nature however arising out of the use or inability to use because of the product defect.
- Verify the VarioS-6S pump is securely attached to the Super Cone body and the venturi is clear.
- Place the skimmer in the sump, targeting a water depth of approximately 8 inches.
- Install the float switch in the collection cup lid and connect it to the controller.
- Plug the VarioS-6S pump into the controller and connect to the power supply.
- Set the pump speed to Level 3 for the initial break-in period.
- Adjust the geared gate valve until the foam line sits at the transition between the body and the neck.
- Allow 14 days for the skimmer to break in before performing final precision tuning.
Pro Tips:
- Metric Plumbing Standards. The Elite 220-INT utilizes a 50mm Metric output. For the cleanest hard-plumbed installation, use a 50mm Metric Union to ensure the skimmer can be easily disconnected from your sump for annual deep cleaning.
- Pump Maintenance. Because the VarioS-6S processes a high volume of water, calcium buildup can occur over time. We recommend a full teardown and vinegar soak of the pump every 6 months to maintain its silent operation and peak air-draw.
- Automatic Neck Cleaning. To keep a 9-inch skimmer performing at 100% efficiency, the neck must stay clean. Consider pairing this unit with a Reef Octopus Automatic Neck Cleaner (ANC) to keep the inner neck free of organic buildup 24/7.
