The Klir Automatic Fleece Filter V1 to V2 Frame Structural Upgrade Kit (SKU: CV-KLIR-V2-UPG) is an authentic OEM optimization assembly distributed by CoralVue to enhance performance, stabilize media tracking, and eliminate operational faults on original-generation filter systems. Automated fleece rollers serve as a premium alternative to traditional filter socks by pulling trapped organic fish waste completely out of the active water volume before it decays. While the original V1 framework pioneered this drop-in convenience, high water velocity loops and fluctuating sump depths could occasionally cause the wet 50-micron fabric to drift sideways, crease, or bind against the internal acrylic frame lines. This factory conversion kit replaces the vulnerable components of your legacy system with the rugged, low-friction tracking hardware introduced in the V2 product lines, instantly transforming your filter into a highly reliable asset.
Engineered to meet strict manufacturer tolerances, the CV-KLIR-V2-UPG package updates the critical high-stress tracking corridors of your filter chassis. It introduces newly contoured side guides that expand internal width spacing by fractions of a millimeter. This subtle modification prevents the edges of a swelling, water-logged roll from rubbing or snagging during motor cycles. Additionally, the kit replaces high-drag static pins with low-resistance rollers, smoothing out the pulling force needed to extract dirty material. This Standard Limited Warranty applies and is limited as follows:
- To the product only as long as it remains in the possession of the original purchaser.
- To the product that has not been subject to accident, misuse, or abuse.
- To the product that has not been modified, altered, defaced, or had repairs made or attempted by other than CoralVue, Inc.
- That CoralVue be immediately notified in writing within ten (10) days of the owner's or his agent's first knowledge of the defect.
- That CoralVue, Inc. shall be given the first opportunity to make any repairs, replacements, or corrections to the defective construction within a reasonable period of time.
- Under no circumstances shall CoralVue and/or the Manufacturer be liable by virtue of this warranty or otherwise for damage to any person or property whatsoever for any special, indirect, secondary, or consequential damages of any nature, however arising out of the use or inability to use because of the product defect.

- Unplug your automatic fleece roller filter's electronic smart controller from the wall outlet to completely kill all power to the system.
- Lift the entire filter chassis straight up out of your sump tray panel, remove the motor block, slide out both spindles, and unthread any fleece media currently remaining in the lanes.
- Use a plastic screwdriver or the provided factory guide pins to remove the original V1 side tracking channels and legacy fixed lower guide pins from the core frame.
- Clean the remaining acrylic chassis core panels with a warm, vinegar-soaked cloth to wipe away any hard, white layers of calcified salt creep or algae scale.
- Take the fresh V2 high-clearance acrylic side plates and smooth low-friction tracking rods from the upgrade box and attach them to your core frame layout using the new included nylon fasteners.
- Re-install your level sensor into the updated V2 square alignment bracket channel, re-thread your media roll under the upgraded guide pins, and slide your motor block back into position.
- Do Not Reuse the Old, Salt-Encrusted Fasteners During Frame Reassembly. When assembling your updated V2 components, always use the fresh nylon screws and tracking pins included inside the upgrade box rather than re-using the old fasteners. Over years of submersion in turbulent sump chambers, old nylon fasteners absorb micro-fractions of mineral scale and salt creep that distort their threads. Forcing an old, salt-crusted screw into a freshly machined V2 tracking channel can cause the plastic threads to cross-thread or snap off inside the frame.
- Check the New Clearance Tracks to Confirm a Zero-Snag Transition. Before lowering your upgraded V2 assembly back into your active aquarium sump sock tray, manually pull a small six-inch section of fleece completely through the updated track. Observe the material closely to ensure the edges glide freely between the new side plates without buckling or rubbing. The updated V2 layout expands tracking tolerances significantly, but any lingering frame misalignment from a loosely tightened screw can cause a tight spot that will bind under automated motor pressure.
- Clean the Smooth Guide Rods Every Six Months to Limit Motor Strain. Because the new V2 upgrade kit switches the system to an advanced low-friction rolling interface, keeping the surfaces of these rods perfectly clean is critical. During your regular seasonal maintenance, pull the fleece roll out and wipe down the updated guide rollers with soft microfiber towels soaked in warm white vinegar. This safely dissolves hard calcium deposits before they can crystallize, keeping the spinning tracks free and minimizing power consumption on your 12V DC drive loop.
