Integrating continuous pH or ORP monitoring into closed pressurized filtration loops requires a leak-proof, pressure-rated entry point. The Reef Octopus Threaded Probe Holder (SKU: ROP-PRB-HLDR) is the official OEM replacement compression gland designed to secure standard electronic probes into calcium reactor lids, effluent chambers, and auto waste collector switch ports.
Constructed from dense, chemical-resistant black nylon, this fitting features standard 1/2"-14 NPT male threads. The top compression cap tightens down onto an internal rubber O-ring gasket, creating a watertight seal around standard 12mm glass or plastic probe bodies. This prevents water leaks and gas escaping from calcium reactor reaction chambers while keeping the probe bulb positioned at the ideal immersion depth.
Includes Protective Dummy Plug
Each ROP-PRB-HLDR unit includes a solid PVC dummy plug shaft. When a pH or ORP probe is removed for recalibration, cleaning, or storage, inserting the dummy plug into the compression gland maintains a continuous watertight seal so your filtration system can operate without interruption.

This Standard Limited Warranty applies and is limited as follows:
- To the product only as long as it remains in the possession of the original purchaser.
- To the product that has not been subject to accident, misuse, or abuse.
- To the product that has not been modified, altered, defaced, or had repairs made or attempted by other than CoralVue, Inc.
- That CoralVue be immediately notified in writing within ten (10) days of the owner's or his agent's first knowledge of the defect.
- That CoralVue, Inc. shall be given the first opportunity to make any repairs, replacements, or corrections to the defective construction within a reasonable period of time.
- Under no circumstances shall CoralVue and/or the Manufacturer be liable by virtue of this warranty or otherwise for damage to any person or property whatsoever for any special, indirect, secondary, or consequential damages of any nature, however arising out of the use or inability to use because of the product defect.

Installation & Set-Up Guidelines:
Wrap 2–3 turns of PTFE thread tape onto the 1/2" NPT male threads of the probe holder.
Thread the fitting into the 1/2" female port on your calcium reactor lid or collection container until hand-snug.
Loosen the top compression cap slightly and remove the protective PVC dummy plug.
Gently slide your pH or ORP probe shaft through the top opening until the sensing bulb reaches the desired water depth.
Hand-tighten the top compression cap until the internal rubber gasket compresses against the probe body to create a leak-proof seal.
Pro Tips:
- Do Not Over-Tighten the Compression Cap. Hand-tightening the top cap provides more than enough torque to seal against internal pressure. Excessive force with tools can crush sensitive glass probe bodies or strip the nylon threads.
- Keep the Dummy Plug Nearby. Store the included PVC dummy plug near your aquarium stand. Having it accessible allows you to plug the port instantly during probe recalibration or replacement without shutting down your calcium reactor feed line.
- Check O-Ring Seals Annually. Periodically inspect the internal compression ring during probe cleaning. If the rubber ring appears dry or flattened from long-term compression, apply a tiny film of reef-safe silicone lubricant to preserve its watertight seal.
