- Power off the skimmer pump.
- Carefully lift the old collection cup off the skimmer body.
- Remove your existing lid and drain plug and transfer them to the new replacement cup.
- Wipe the neck of the skimmer body with a damp cloth to remove any salt creep or debris.
- Press the new Classic 150-S cup firmly onto the skimmer body until it is fully seated.
- Ensure the drain plug is secure (if not using an external collector) and restart the pump.
Pro Tips:
Don't toss your hardware.
Since this replacement does not include the lid or the drain plug, it is vital to keep those parts from your original cup. If your plug is lost, the cup will drain directly back into your sump, defeating the purpose of the skimmer.
Check the neck O-ring. The 150-S relies on a tight seal at the neck. If the cup feels loose or you notice salt creep forming around the base of the cup, inspect the O-ring on the skimmer body. A small amount of silicone lubricant can help achieve a better seal and make the cup easier to remove.
Clean the neck frequently. A dirty cup neck can hinder bubble rise. Wipe the inside of the cup neck every time you empty the skimmate to keep your Classic 150-S performing at peak efficiency.
