Reef Brite PRO LED K50 Supplemental Hybrid Light Kit
Clustered LED pucks deliver tremendous PAR and visual shimmer, but their concentrated light distribution frequently creates severe self-shadowing as branching stony corals mature. The upper canopy shields lower branches, leading to tissue thinning, localized bleaching, and reduced polyp extension along coral undersides. The Reef Brite PRO LED K50 Kit (SKU: RB-PRO-K50 / PRO-K50) is the official OEM supplemental hybrid lighting retrofit engineered specifically for EcoTech Marine Radion, AquaIllumination Hydra, and Kessil LED Fixtures.
The RB-PRO-K50 system attaches two custom 16-inch Reef Brite LumiLite PRO Ultra Actinic LED bars to the front and rear of your primary light fixture using heavy-duty PRO-B50 aluminum mounting brackets. Powered by 128 high-output micro-LED diodes across the two bars, the system produces a dense, diffuse blanket of light that wraps around coral skeletons from opposing angles. Unlike standard blue LED bars, the Ultra Actinic spectrum incorporates true violet wavelengths alongside royal blue diodes. This violet addition excites the full spectrum of fluorescent pigments—including green, red, orange, and cyan chromoproteins—while driving photosynthetically active radiation deep into lower coral branches. The kit integrates cleanly with EcoTech Radion Mounting System (RMS) arms and AI Hydra Mounting System (HMS) rails using included mounting hardware, preserving your primary light's structural integrity without drilling or custom fabrication.

Warranty is activated on the date of purchase.
This Standard Limited Warranty applies and is limited as follows:
- To the product only as long as it remains in the possession of the original purchaser.
- To the product that has not been subject to accident, misuse or abuse.
- To the product that has not been modified, altered, defaced, or had repairs made or attempted by other than CoralVue, Inc.
- That CoralVue be immediately notified in writing within ten (10) days of first knowledge of defect by owner or his agent.
- That CoralVue, Inc. shall be given first opportunity to make any repairs, replacements or corrections to the defective construction within a reasonable period of time.
- Under no circumstances shall CoralVue and/or the Manufacturer be liable by virtue of this warranty or otherwise for damage to any person or property whatsoever for any special, indirect, secondary or consequential damages of any nature however arising out of the use or inability to use because of the product defect.
Installation & Assembly Guidelines:
Disconnect your primary LED fixture from AC power and allow the heatsink to cool completely before handling.
Remove the primary light from its tank arm or track mount and place it face-down onto a soft, protective surface.
Align the RB-PRO-K50 (PRO-B50) brackets with the mounting channels or bolt patterns between your primary fixture and the RMS or HMS mount.
Fasten the brackets securely using the supplied mounting hardware, ensuring the bracket arms extend outward symmetrically to the front and rear of the main fixture.
Secure the two custom 16-inch LumiLite PRO Ultra Actinic LED bars to the outer ends of the bracket arms with the LED lenses facing downward toward the water.
Plug the DC lead cords of each 16-inch light bar into the female receptacles of the 2-way DC Y-splitter cable.
Connect the male end of the Y-cable to the inline dimmer, and connect the dimmer to the dedicated DC power supply.
Re-mount the completed hybrid assembly over the aquarium, securing all cables with zip-ties and establishing drip loops away from water splash.
Power on both fixtures and adjust the inline dimmer to blend supplemental violet/actinic illumination with your primary light schedule.
Pro Tips:
- Harness the Violet Spectrum for Coral Fluorescent Pigments. The Ultra Actinic diodes in the PRO-K50 kit incorporate near-UV violet wavelengths (around 400nm–420nm) that specifically excite green and red fluorescent proteins (GFPs and RFPs) which standard 450nm royal blue diodes miss. Running the PRO-K50 at a low setting for 45 to 60 minutes after your main daylight fixtures turn off creates a fluorescent twilight display that makes corals glow vividly.
- Gradually Ramp Up Output to Prevent Light Shock. Packing 128 high-output micro-diodes into two 16-inch bars introduces a substantial increase in diffuse PAR across the upper reef structure. To ensure that sensitive LPS corals and SPS acropora adjust comfortably, start the inline dimmer at 40% to 50% intensity for the first two weeks. Gradually increase output by 10% each week until you achieve the desired PAR and coloration balance.
