Everyday Spirulina Flake Food for Community and Reef Fish

The Dymax Spirulina Advance Flakes (50g) is the standard everyday container size in the Spirulina Advance Flakes range, suited for small to mid-size freshwater community tanks, planted tanks, and marine reef systems. The spirulina-first formula is built around color enhancement across three specific channels — red, blue, and yellow — making it a practical daily food for mixed community tanks where fish of different coloration types share the same feeding schedule. A single flake formula that supports all three color types simultaneously removes the need to rotate between color-specific foods.

At 40% protein with fish meal, krill meal, and mussel meal as the protein base, the formula supports healthy growth and muscle development alongside the color-enhancement function. The flake format floats at the surface and sinks slowly as it absorbs water, feeding surface-oriented fish like bettas and danios at the top while sinking food reaches mid-column species as feeding progresses. Garlic extract draws attention from selective or new fish. β-Glucan and Bacillus Subtilis support immune defense and digestive efficiency. No artificial colors, preservatives, or harmful additives are used.

    Key Features:

    • Spirulina-first flake food for freshwater community fish, planted tank fish, and marine reef fish
    • Targets red, blue, and yellow color enhancement in a single daily formula
    • 40% protein from fish meal, krill meal, and mussel meal
    • Astaxanthin provides carotenoid-based natural color support
    • Garlic extract encourages feeding from selective or recently acquired fish
    • Seaweed and algae cover plant-based dietary needs within the formula
    • β-Glucan immune support; Bacillus Subtilis probiotic for digestive health and waste reduction
    • Floats at the surface before slowly sinking, serving both surface and mid-column feeders
    • Easily digestible; minimal waste and reduced water pollution risk
    • No artificial colors, preservatives, or harmful additives
    • 50g / 400ml provides a standard weeks-long supply for most everyday aquariums

    Ideal For:

    • Small to mid-size freshwater community tanks running a mixed-species population with color-forward fish including tetras, cichlids, gouramis, and bettas
    • Planted tank hobbyists who want a flake food that delivers color support and protein without the water-quality impact of lower-quality flakes
    • Marine reef keepers who use Spirulina Advance Flakes as a surface flake component in their reef feeding rotation alongside a pellet

    Pro Tips:

    • Feed in two or three small portions throughout the day rather than one large feeding. Fish metabolize small frequent meals more efficiently than one large feeding, and smaller portions reduce the amount of uneaten flake that sinks to the substrate before fish can reach it.
    • For planted tanks, control portions carefully. The krill meal and mussel meal in this formula contribute to nitrogen loading. Over-feeding in a planted tank creates algae pressure. A thin pinch of flake twice daily is sufficient for most community setups.
    • The 50g container will last most hobbyists one to two months. Flake food is very light. If the 50g is emptying in less than three weeks, portions are likely too large or the tank is being fed too frequently.

While most of our equipment carries a one-year manufacturer's warranty, consumable products like fish and coral foods are not covered under traditional warranty terms due to their perishable nature and varied storage conditions. However, we fully stand behind the quality of every product we sell. Instructions:

    1. Feed two to three times daily in small amounts. Only offer what fish will consume within two to three minutes.
    2. For nano fish or juveniles, crush the flake lightly between fingers before adding to reduce flake size.
    3. Drop flakes directly onto the water surface. The flakes will float initially and sink slowly as they absorb water, serving both surface and mid-column feeders.
    4. Remove any uneaten flake after three minutes using a fine net to prevent decomposition and water quality impact.
    5. Store the container sealed tightly in a cool, dry location away from direct light and humidity.
