The IceCap K1 Nano Air Silencer (SKU: IP-K1NN-SIL) is the official OEM replacement noise-dampening unit engineered specifically for the IceCap K1 Nano Protein Skimmer.
Made from saltwater-safe acrylic and molded polymer end caps, this compact silencer mounts neatly onto the K1 Nano skimmer body's side bracket. Ambient air enters through the top port and passes through internal noise-baffling chambers before exiting via the barbed connector to the pump airline tubing. Over time, salt creep, accidental water overflows, or physical drops can crack or clog the silencer casing. Replacing it with an authentic IP-K1NN-SIL restores quiet operation without restricting air intake velocity.

Installation & Replacement Guidelines:
Turn off power to the nano skimmer pump to stop air suction.
Disconnect the flexible silicone airline hose from the bottom hose barb of the old air silencer.
Slide or unclip the old silencer unit out of the skimmer body mounting bracket.
Wipe the mounting bracket clean of any dried salt creep or moisture.
Secure the new IP-K1NN-SIL air silencer into the mounting bracket, reconnect the silicone airline hose securely to the bottom barb, and resume skimmer operation.
Pro Tips:
- Keep the Air Silencer Above Water Level. Ensure the silencer unit is mounted securely on the upper body bracket above the water line. If water levels in rear chambers rise higher than the silencer bottom, water can enter the intake and stop air injection.
- Rinse Salt Creep Periodically. Every 2 to 3 months, detach the silencer and rinse the internal chamber under warm tap water. Removing dried salt deposits from internal air channels keeps air volume unrestricted and noise levels whisper-quiet.
