Mechanical Twist-Lock Vacuum: Uses a manual rotation lock cap to pull the center of the suction cup upward, creating an ultra-strong hold that won't slip.
Firm, Non-Slip Jaw Grip: Heavy-duty spring-less alligator style closure keeps wet algae sheets firmly clamped without tearing or releasing prematurely.
100% Metal-Free Assembly: Constructed entirely out of reef-safe polymers to prevent rust, corrosion, or heavy metal leaching into the water column.
Promotes Natural Foraging: Secures food sheets in a fixed position, mimicking natural reef structures and allowing tangs, angels, and blennies to graze naturally.
Clean and Simple Maintenance: Simplifies adding or removing food sheets without needing to reach down and submerge your entire arm into the tank.
Flexible Placement Capability: Anchors securely onto all smooth glass or acrylic surfaces inside freshwater setups, saltwater displays, and quarantine tanks.

IceCap Twistlock Suction Cup Seaweed Clip (SKU: IC-SCLIP-100S)
The IceCap Twistlock Suction Cup Seaweed Clip (SKU: IC-SCLIP-100S) is an authentic, reef-safe feeding accessory distributed by CoralVue to streamline daily grazing routines for marine herbivores and freshwater algae-eating fish. Foraging species—especially Tangs, Rabbitfish, Large Angelfish, and Surgeonfish—possess mouth structures specialized for scraping organic films off hard reef structures. Providing them with dried nori sheets is essential for their long-term digestive health and color retention, but standard suction cups fail quickly under the forceful tugging of aggressive feeding fish. The IceCap Twistlock clip solves this frustration by replacing traditional push-to-stick rubber with a mechanical pressure system that holds tight through the rowdiest feeding frenzies.
The core technology of the IC-SCLIP-100S relies on its Integrated Rotary Vacuum Cap. When pressed against a clean interior glass panel and rotated clockwise, the rigid plastic dial forces the flexible suction base to bow upward internally. This action pushes out microscopic air pockets and creates a high-pressure vacuum seal that can easily support aggressive tugging from multiple large fish at once. The attached plastic alligator jaw features fine, molded interlocking teeth designed to grip slippery seaweed sheets securely without cutting the delicate fibers. Built completely without metal springs or pins, this durable feeder will not leach rust into your water column, keeping your system safe and clean.
Key Features
Heavy-Duty Grazer Stability: Mechanical vacuum suction prevents the feeder from sliding down the glass or falling into the sand bed when targeted by large fish.
Eliminates Toxic Metal Contamination: Built completely without hidden steel springs or metal hinges, eliminating the risk of heavy metal oxidation.
Keeps Waste to a Minimum: The firm, serrated jaw holds onto wet nori sheets securely, preventing large pieces from breaking loose and drifting into overflow boxes or filter socks.

- Unbox your IceCap Twistlock feeding clip. Turn the upper plastic cap counter-clockwise to completely loosen the internal mechanism before trying to mount it.
- Locate a visible, easily accessible area on your glass or acrylic panel. Pro Tip: Pick an area with moderate water flow so loose bits of seaweed drift directly into the open tank for sub-dominant fish to eat.
- Use a clean magnetic scraper or a razor blade to thoroughly clean the inside glass surface where you plan to place the clip. Any trapped film algae, coralline spots, or biofilm will compromise the vacuum seal and cause it to slide.
- Press the soft suction cup base firmly against the clean glass panel. While holding continuous pressure against the center, turn the outer plastic locking ring clockwise until it is snug. You will see the center of the cup pull back, locking it firmly in place.
- Open the plastic alligator jaws, place a folded strip of dried nori or seaweed sheet between the teeth, and snap the clip shut over the food.
- To remove or move the clip, rotate the cap counter-clockwise to release the vacuum pressure, slide your fingernail under the edge of the rubber flap, and pull it away from the glass.
Pro Tips:
- Fold Your Seaweed Sheets Multiple Times to Create a Sturdier Target. Single, thin sheets of dried nori soften quickly once submerged in saltwater, making it easy for large fish to rip off giant chunks that can drift away and rot in your rockwork. To get more mileage out of your feeding sheets, fold the nori square into a thick, narrow rectangle 3 or 4 layers deep before clamping it into the IC-SCLIP-100S jaw. This multi-layer fold forces your fish to pick at the edges, extending feeding times and mimicking their natural grazing behavior.
- Loosen the Twist Lock Mechanism Monthly to Clean beneath the Rubber Flap. Even with a powerful vacuum seal, microscopic film algae and saltwater can slowly creep under the outer edges of the rubber suction base over time. Every few weeks, turn the locking ring counter-clockwise to release the clip and take it out of the tank. Rinse the rubber base under hot tap water and wipe the glass panel clean to prevent any slick biological film from breaking down your suction grip.
- Feed at the Same Time and Location Daily to Reduce Aggression in Tang Tanks. Herbivorous fish like Acanthurus and Zebrasoma tangs are highly territorial when it comes to food sources. If you have multiple tangs in your display, mount your IC-SCLIP-100S in the exact same location at a consistent time every day. This structure allows your fish to establish a stable pecking order during feeding, reducing stress and flashing behavior across the community. If aggression remains high, consider mounting two separate clips on opposite ends of the glass.
