IceCap Smart RO/DI Replacement Water Leak Detector Probe
High-output reverse osmosis systems operate under continuous water pressure, processing dozens to hundreds of gallons of water daily. A loose quick-connect fitting, hairline canister crack, or pinched O-ring can quickly result in costly property damage if left unattended. The IceCap Smart RO/DI Water Leakage Probe (SKU: IP-RI-WL01 / IC-RI-WL01) is the official OEM replacement electronic moisture sensor engineered specifically for the computerized controller of the IceCap Smart RO/DI System.
Integrated directly into the system's automated protective safeguards, the IP-RI-WL01 monitors the surface beneath the filtration unit for any sign of escaping water. The probe features a low-profile, weighted housing with two exposed metal contact pins that face downward. When pooled water touches both pins simultaneously, it completes a low-voltage electrical circuit that signals the digital controller. The controller instantly halts water production by de-energizing the booster pump and shutting the electronic feedwater solenoid valve, while triggering an audible alert and visual warning on the backlit LCD screen. Over time, leak probes in utility areas can suffer wire damage, become corroded by standing minerals or cleaning chemicals, or go missing during system relocations. Installing an authentic IP-RI-WL01 restores vital fail-safe protection to your water production setup.
Ideal Replacement Scenario
If your original Smart RO/DI leak probe has severed wiring, damaged contact pins, triggers continuous false leak alarms due to internal corrosion, or was misplaced during a filtration overhaul, installing an authentic IP-RI-WL01 restores reliable flood-prevention automation.

Installation & Testing Guidelines:
Disconnect the power transformer from the IceCap Smart RO/DI controller before servicing wiring.
Unplug the existing damaged leak sensor cable from the dedicated port on the bottom of the controller module.
Plug the connector of the new IP-RI-WL01 firmly into the controller’s leak sensor socket until fully seated.
Route the sensor cable neatly down along the frame, securing it with zip-ties away from sharp metal edges or high-vibration tubing.
Place the probe flat on the floor, equipment cabinet floor, or secondary containment drip tray directly beneath the filter canisters and booster pump.
Reconnect the controller power supply.
Test operation by touching a clean, damp paper towel across both metal pins. Confirm that the controller immediately sounds the audible alarm and flashes the leak warning screen, then dry the probe thoroughly with a microfiber towel to clear the alarm state.
Pro Tips:
- Position at the Lowest Elevation Point or Inside a Drip Tray. Water naturally tracks along floor slopes toward the lowest point in a room or stand. To ensure the fastest possible alarm response, place the IP-RI-WL01 probe at the lowest corner of the cabinet floor or directly inside a shallow plastic drip tray placed beneath the RO/DI unit.
- Wipe Contacts Clean During Routine Filter Changes. Dust, lint, and dried salt spray in utility spaces can gradually collect between the sensing pins, potentially triggering false alarms or insulating the electrodes. Wipe the metal contacts on the bottom of the probe with a dry microfiber cloth or rubbing alcohol swab whenever you perform scheduled prefilter cartridge changes.
