The Reef Octopus Bubble/Water Blaster 1000 Pump Base (SKU: ROP-BASE-HY2000) is the official factory replacement mounting plate designed for small and medium-frame Reef Octopus motor blocks. Over years of continuous submersion, original rubber vibration feet can harden, tear, or lose grip due to mineral deposits and salt creep, allowing motor resonance to transfer directly into your sump floor or skimmer body as an annoying low-frequency hum. Replacing a worn baseplate restores whisper-quiet operation and keeps your pump firmly anchored.
Molded from high-impact, reef-safe ABS plastic, this heavy-duty baseplate features integrated side guide rails that slide directly into the alignment slots on the bottom of the pump's motor block. It comes equipped with four pre-installed, heavy-density silicone rubber feet that elevate the pump slightly off the sump bottom, creating an acoustic buffer that absorbs kinetic vibration.

Replacement Instructions:
Disconnect the pump from power and carefully remove it from your sump or skimmer assembly.
Locate the release tab on the old baseplate (if still attached) and slide the old base backwards along the bottom rails of the motor block to disengage it.
Thoroughly clean any calcium, salt creep, or coralline algae out of the mounting tracks on the bottom of the pump motor housing using a soft brush dipped in diluted citric acid or vinegar.
Align the guide rails of the new ROP-BASE-HY2000 with the tracks on the pump housing.
Push the baseplate forward until it firmly clicks into place.
Verify that all four silicone dampening feet are seated securely in their mounting sockets before placing the pump back into your sump.

Check Base Orientation Before Sliding Into Skimmers.
CRITICAL SKIMMER FITMENT TIP: When installing a new baseplate onto a Bubble Blaster 1000S skimmer pump, ensure the base is oriented so the pump slides smoothly onto the skimmer's internal acrylic mounting bracket. Forcing an unaligned baseplate can snap the acrylic guide tracks inside the skimmer body.
Keep Silicone Feet Clean During Maintenance. Whenever you perform bi-annual pump maintenance, take a moment to pull the base off and soak the silicone feet in warm fresh water. Removing trapped sand grains, detritus, or calcium crust from underneath the feet restores their natural suction and dampening elasticity, keeping your filtration cabinet completely silent.
Never Operate Without Dampening Feet. Running a pump on hard acrylic or glass without silicone feet will cause physical chatter and micro-vibrations. Over time, this mechanical shock can loosen threaded plumbing fittings, cause bulkhead micro-leaks, and significantly increase motor operating noise.
