IceCap 14" Carbon Fiber Aquarium Tweezers
The IceCap 14-Inch Carbon Fiber Aquarium Tweezers are an authentic, premium-grade husbandry and aquascaping tool distributed by CoralVue to completely reinvent how hobbyists interact with their underwater environments. Traditional aquarium tweezers are stamped from stainless steel sheets; over time, continuous exposure to aggressive saltwater environments causes cheap steel alloys to develop rust pockets along their tension joints, frozen hinge-points, and unsightly discoloration. Worse yet, heavy steel tools sink like a stone the moment you lose your grip, crashing down onto delicate coral colonies or flattening carefully manicured aquascaping layouts. The IC-TWZ bypasses these common frustrations entirely by leveraging a cutting-edge, ultra-pure carbon fiber chassis.
The defining characteristic of the IceCap tweezers is their precise neutral buoyancy. If the tool slips out of your fingers mid-maintenance, it will hover perfectly in place within the water column instead of plummeting downward, giving you plenty of time to calmly reach back in and retrieve it. The business end of the forceps features a non-slip, textured profile wrapped in a protective, cushioning layer of clear silicone. This soft interface allows you to firmly pinch and lift heavy rock fragments or slippery frags without marring acrylic walls, scraping off encrusting coral tissue, or slicing through fragile macroalgae anchors. Extremely rigid yet remarkably lightweight, this professional-grade tool provides the surgical precision needed to plant delicate freshwater carpeting flora or secure prized coral frags into tight rockwork crevices.
Key Features:
Ergonomic Fatigue Prevention: The carbon fiber frame maintains a natural, responsive spring-back memory that reduces hand cramping during lengthy planting or fragging sessions.
Zero Contamination Risk: Bypassing metal construction means there is zero risk of oxidation flaking or protective oil residue washing into your water column to shock sensitive invertebrates.
Deep Sump and Overflow Access: The slender 14-inch physical profile lets you slip into narrow overflow boxes or under-cabinet sump baffles to clean out stray snails and loose detritus clumps.
Note: This maintenance accessory includes one standalone 14-inch carbon fiber tweezer unit with pre-applied protective silicone tip covers.

Instructions:
- Remove your IceCap carbon fiber tweezers from the packaging and inspect the clear silicone tip covers to ensure they are seated squarely over the underlying carbon framework.
Hold the tweezers near the wider upper arch to leverage maximum leverage, using a simple single-handed squeeze to calibrate your closing finger pressure.
Submerge the tweezers directly into your display tank or filtration sump to position decorative rocks, pluck out nuisance bubble algae, or capture stray cleaning crew snails.
When handling live coral fragments (such as delicate SPS or soft zoanthids), pinch the hard ceramic plug base rather than the living tissue whenever possible to ensure a secure lift.
If the tweezers slip out of your hands, do not panic—the tool will hang suspended in the water column exactly where you dropped it, allowing for safe, simple reclamation.
Shake off excess surface water after use. While carbon fiber cannot rust, giving the tool a quick rinse in fresh tap water after saltwater submersion keeps salt crust from forming over the silicone tips.
Pro Tips:
- Utilize the Neutral Buoyancy Feature to Park the Tool Mid-Aquascape. One of the handiest unadvertised benefits of a neutrally buoyant tool is the ability to temporarily "park" it right in your line of sight. If you are in the middle of a complex aquascaping project and suddenly need two hands to apply coral glue or epoxy to a rock ledge, you don't have to keep pulling your wet arms out of the tank to set the tool down on your towel. Simply let go of the tweezers inside the open water; they will float perfectly in place right next to your workspace until you are ready to pick them back up.
- Avoid Exposing the Raw Tips to Open Flames or Superglue Accelerators. While carbon fiber is incredibly tough and highly heat-resistant, the soft protective silicone tips can be degraded by direct contact with aggressive industrial solvents, cyanoacrylate (superglue) accelerators, or open flames. When gluing coral frags directly to plugs, try to grip the dry portion of the plug stem. If you accidentally get thick coral gel on the silicone tips, do not scrape it off with a metal blade; simply allow the glue to cure completely, and it will easily peel away from the smooth silicone backing.
- Do Not Force the Tweezers to Pry Apart Heavy, Locked Rock Formations. Carbon fiber features immense structural tensile strength and excellent vertical compression limits, making it perfect for lifting heavy items straight up. However, like all advanced carbon composites, it is not designed to absorb extreme twisting or shearing torque forces. Avoid jamming the closed tips deep into rock cracks to use the tool as a heavy pry-bar to break apart massive aquascaping blocks. For heavy prying or cracking tasks, always rely on a dedicated metal bone cutter or chisel tool.
