The IceCap DCAir 1.0 Pump Rear Bushing (SKU: IP-DCAIR-1-RB) is the official OEM replacement ceramic shaft bearing sleeve designed specifically for the IceCap DCAIR 1.0 DC Skimmer Pump. Over years of service, continuous rotation can wear down internal rubber bushings, or the small sleeve can easily flush down the sink during maintenance cleaning.
Operating a skimmer pump without a rear bushing allows the ceramic shaft to vibrate loosely inside the motor well. This misalignment causes noisy motor rattling, uneven needlewheel spin, micro-bubble loss, and premature magnet wall scoring. Inserting a fresh IP-DCAIR-1-RB rear bushing restores factory shaft centering, dampens motor vibration, and ensures smooth air-water fractionating performance.

Installation & Replacement Guidelines:
Unplug the 24V DC power supply to your IceCap DCAIR 1.0 skimmer pump and remove the pump from the sump.
Twist off the front volute cover and carefully slide out the Pinwheel impeller assembly and ceramic shaft.
Look into the deep rear recess of the inner motor block to inspect or remove the old, damaged rear bushing using fine tweezers.
Insert the new IP-DCAIR-1-RB bushing into the bottom of the motor well cavity, pushing it until firmly seated.
Guide the ceramic shaft into the center hole of the new bushing, reinstall the pinwheel and volute cover, and test pump operation.
Pro Tips:
- Never Run the Pump Without Bushings. Running a DC needlewheel pump without the rear shaft bushing will cause the rotating magnet block to strike the inner motor wall, permanently damaging the motor block windings and snapping the fragile ceramic shaft.
- Check Bushing Well During Cleaning. When soaking pump parts in a citric acid bath to remove calcium deposits, check that the small rear bushing remains inside the motor well before dumping out the cleaning fluid.
