IceCap White 1/4in PE Reverse Osmosis Tubing
SKU: IP-RI-RT01W
- Sold by the Linear Foot: Ordered by the foot and cut to length as a single continuous line, eliminating the need for intermediate union couplers across long plumbing runs.
- Direct OEM RO/DI Integration: Factory-original 1/4-inch polyethylene tubing engineered specifically for IceCap 4-Stage, Smart RO/DI, and auxiliary aquatic filtration systems.
- Industry-Standard Color Coding: Opaque white pigmentation designates cold municipal feedwater intake, enabling quick visual tracing across complex multi-line fish room plumbing.
- Food-Grade Polyethylene Construction: Molded from high-purity, NSF/FDA-compliant linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) that resists leaching, odor, and degradation from chlorine and chloramines.
- High Pressure & Burst Resistance: Engineered to safely withstand continuous municipal line pressure and booster pump surges up to 125 PSI at standard room temperatures.

IceCap White 1/4-Inch PE Reverse Osmosis Tubing
Reliable water purification starts with secure, chemical-resistant plumbing between your tap water supply and the filtration stages. The IceCap White 1/4in PE Reverse Osmosis Tubing (SKU: IP-RI-RT01W / IC-RI-RT01W) is the official OEM replacement 1/4-inch polyethylene line engineered specifically for IceCap Reverse Osmosis and RO/DI Systems (including 4-stage 75, 100, 150, 200 GPD units and the computerized Smart RO/DI system).
Sold by the linear foot, this tubing is cut to continuous lengths based on the quantity ordered, allowing aquarists to run single, unbroken lines between cold-water supply bibs, prefiltration canisters, and reservoirs without introducing leak-prone union fittings. On IceCap systems, white tubing is traditionally designated as the raw cold-water feed line connecting the faucet adapter, garden hose bib, or angle-stop valve to the first-stage sediment filter housing. Constructed from food-grade linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE), the tubing provides high dimensional stability and hoop strength to withstand continuous household line pressure up to 125 PSI. Its smooth, non-porous interior bore resists biofilm adhesion and scaling, while its chemical resistance protects against degradation from municipal disinfectants like free chlorine and chloramines.
Ideal Application & Replacement Scenarios
If your incoming cold-water feed line has kinked, developed hairline pinhole leaks, suffered groove wear from push-connect fittings, or if you need to run a custom-length line to reach a distant utility sink or laundry bib, ordering authentic IP-RI-RT01W tubing by the foot ensures a continuous, reliable plumbing run.
(Note: Sold by the foot. When ordering, enter the total number of linear feet desired; tubing will be shipped as a single, continuous cut length).

Installation & Replacement Guidelines:
Shut off the cold-water feed supply to your RO/DI system and depressurize the system.
Measure the exact path between your feed water adapter and the stage-1 sediment filter canister, allowing slight slack to prevent line tension.
Cut the new IP-RI-RT01W tubing to length using a sharp, dedicated tube cutter to create a clean, 90-degree square end.
Mark the tube approximately 5/8-inch from the cut end to indicate insertion depth.
Push the tube firmly into the 1/4-inch quick-connect fitting until it passes the internal O-ring and reaches the bottom stop.
Pull backward gently on the tubing to confirm that the collet's stainless steel grab teeth have engaged the tube wall.
Install a locking clip (if applicable) under the collet head to prevent accidental release.
Reopen the cold-water supply valve slowly, inspect the connection for weeping, and confirm full flow into the prefilter housing.
Pro Tips:
- Order 10%–15% Extra Length for Routing Pathways. When measuring long runs between water bibs, drain lines, and filtration stations, add an extra 2 to 3 feet to your order. Having extra slack allows you to route tubing neatly along baseboards or inside cabinet corners, preventing sharp bends that can pinch water flow.
- Always Cut Tubing Squarely with a Dedicated Cutter. Never cut polyethylene tubing with diagonal pliers, scissors, or utility knives against a countertop. Uneven pressure crushes the tube out of round, and angled cuts prevent the tube wall from making 360-degree contact with the quick-connect fitting's internal O-ring, which is the leading cause of weeping leaks under household water pressure.
