IceCap FP-200 Aquarium Flow Pump
The IceCap FP-200 Aquarium Flow Pump (SKU: IC-FP-200) is an authentic, heavy-duty directional propeller wavemaker distributed by CoralVue to provide vital water circulation in progressive freshwater environments and marine reef aquariums. Proper water velocity is the foundational life support line of a closed aquatic ecosystem; continuous flow drives critical surface gas exchange to maximize oxygen levels, eliminates stagnant dead zones where heavy organic waste can settle, and continuously sweeps essential nutrients across live plants and filter-feeding coral polyps. While smaller powerheads often fall short in deep or long tanks, the FP-200 delivers the massive volumetric turn-around required to manage expansive displays without taking up unnecessary visual real estate.
Measuring a versatile 4 x 3.3 x 3.3 inches including its compact internal magnetic base, the FP-200 packs an exceptionally powerful motor profile into a low-profile chassis that easily blends into your background aquascaping layout. Driven by an advanced external digital programmer, the pump utilizes an optimized propeller array to push up to 4,755 gallons per hour of wide, turbulent water movement. The included controller features a precision adjustment wheel and digital button paths to step through 10 micro-adjustable speed increments and 5 dynamic flow patterns. This range allows you to fine-tune your tank velocity, shifting from a smooth river current to an irregular, high-energy ocean surge. Built with smart voltage monitoring and water-shortage auto-shutoff safety protocols, the IceCap FP-200 brings professional-grade water management features directly to home aquarists.
Key Features:
Five Presets for Dynamic Wave Action: Choose between Pulsing (surging waves), Constant Flow (steady current), Stream (gradual ramping speeds), Random (irregular reef currents), and Linkage/Cycle modes.
Master/Servant Wireless Linkage Capability: Wirelessly synchronize two separate IceCap FP controllers together, designating one as the "Master" and the other as the "Servant" to execute highly complex, alternating back-and-forth wave patterns.
Automated Controller Security Lock: Features a built-in safety lock setting that temporarily disables the controller wheel and button interface to prevent accidental adjustment shifts.
Note: This complete wavemaker kit includes the standalone FP-200 submersible pump body with integrated wet-side magnetic mount, independent digital flow controller, external dry-side magnet plate, and low-voltage DC power supply block.

Instructions:
- Unbox your IC-FP-200 kit carefully. Separate the internal pump block from the external dry-side magnet. Warning: Keep the two powerful magnets safely apart during unboxing to avoid sharp finger pinches.
- Wipe clean the interior and exterior glass surfaces where you want to mount the pump to remove any fine sand or algae that could scrape your tank walls.
- Submerge the pump assembly completely in your tank water, holding it below the waterline. Tilt the pump slightly to let any trapped air bubbles escape from the front propeller cage.
- Hold the internal pump body in place against the glass, and guide the external dry-side magnet into position from the outside until the magnets couple securely. Do not snap the magnets together directly; slide them inward to protect the glass panel.
- Mount the digital controller on your dry cabinet wall using its built-in hanging mount, route the pump's power cable using a safe drip loop to keep water from traveling down the cord, and plug the power supply into a wall outlet.
- Use the controller's central knob and buttons to select your desired flow mode preset and power intensity percentage, adjusting the pivoting pump mount by hand to aim the flow direction.
Pro Tips:
- Position the Pump Towards the Surface for Maximum Oxygenation and Film Removal. To maximize gas exchange and eliminate that unsightly organic oil film that forms on top of stagnant aquarium water, aim your FP-200 slightly upward towards the water surface. Adjust the pivoting head until you see a rolling ripple on the surface without creating a loud splashing sound. This rolling agitation continuously breaks up organic biofilms, driving dissolved oxygen into the water column to support healthy biological filtration and respiration.
- Clean the Magnetic Bases Thoroughly After Performing Substrate Sand Maintenance. Whenever you are cleaning your tank substrate, scraping algae near the bottom glass, or rearranging rockwork, fine grains of mineral sand or quartz can easily float up and get trapped between the pump's magnetic pads and the glass. If you need to adjust or slide the pump to a new position, always lift the external dry magnet completely off first rather than dragging it. This simple habit keeps trapped grit from leaving deep, permanent scratches across your glass or acrylic panels.
- Perform a Simple Vinegar Soak Every 90 Days to Prevent Hard Calcium Lock. Continuous exposure to aquarium water will slowly cause organic film and hard calcium scaling to accumulate along the internal impeller shaft. To keep your pump running quietly and efficiently, pull the pump out every three months. Carefully twist the front flow cage counter-clockwise to remove it from the pump body, and rotate the impeller base counter-clockwise to expose the core magnet assembly. Soak the wet-side components in a 50/50 mix of warm fresh water and white vinegar for 30 minutes to dissolve stubborn mineral crusts and prevent premature motor wear.
