Klir
Klir by CoralVue provides automatic fleece filters that replace filter socks. They automatically advance 50-micron fleece when dirty, maintaining clear water with less maintenance.
Klir 4-Inch High-Flow 200-Micron Replacement Filter Fleece Roll
The Klir 4-Inch High-Flow 200-Micron Replacement Filter Fleece Roll (SKU: CV-KLIR-RF-7325B) is an authentic high-porosity mechanical filtration media upgrade distributed by CoralVue to balance water turnover rates and maximize roll longevity in demanding marine reef aquariums and freshwater ecosystems. Automatic drop-in roller filters serve as an advanced alternative to traditional mesh socks, continuously winding fresh fabric across your sump's drain track to capture physical debris before it can break down into nitrates and phosphates. While the stock 50-micron fleece rolls provide polishing capabilities, they can wrap forward too quickly in heavy bioload, high-flow, or heavily fed tanks, leading to frequent media changes. This 200-micron fabric alternative acts as a high-flow screen, catching large fish waste and uneaten food while letting micro-particles flow through, slowing down consumption rates and keeping your filtration running automatically for much longer.
Every retail package is assembled to strict manufacturing standards, arriving as a complete maintenance solution. Instead of just supplying loose fabric, the kit includes a fresh disposable waste collection spindle along with new foam tension rings and matching retainers. This setup ensures that your tracking system maintains perfect edge alignment during advancement. The non-woven polymer fibers handle persistent exposure to high-pressure water loops without stretching or tearing under motor tension, ensuring a smooth, reliable extraction cycle.
Key Features
Significantly Lowers Media Running Costs: The highly porous 200-micron layout reduces false high-water triggers, maximizing the lifespan of each roll.
Maintains Consistent Return Pump Inflow: Allows high-velocity water loops to transition through the chassis smoothly without backing up your overflow lines or creating noise.
Guarantees Safe Skimmer Interlocking: Made from clean, chemical-free materials that will not alter your water's surface tension or cause your protein skimmer to bubble over.
Note: This media kit contains (1) 25-yard 200-micron roll, (1) waste spindle, and foam tension rings. Complete Klir Di-4 automatic roller filter frames, 12V DC motor blocks, and smart level sensors are sold under separate product categories.

While most of our equipment carries a one-year manufacturer's warranty, consumable products like fish and coral foods are not covered under traditional warranty terms due to their perishable nature and varied storage conditions. However, we fully stand behind the quality of every product we sell. If you experience any issues with your food purchase shortly after receiving it, such as concerns about freshness, packaging integrity, or product quality, please contact us at [email protected]. We're committed to making it right and will work with you to resolve any problems quickly and fairly.
- Unplug your automatic fleece roller's electronic controller from the wall outlet to kill power and prevent the motor from turning during the media change.
- Carefully lift the entire Klir Di-4 unit straight up out of your sump's filter sock tray and lay it down flat on a clean, dry towel.
- Remove your existing waste collection spindle holding the dirty, saturated fleece roll, and pull the empty clean roll spindle out of the rear slots. Throw away the dirty roll.
- Take your fresh CV-KLIR-RF-7325B 200-micron fleece roll, slide your clean roll spindle through its center core, and seat the assembly back into the rear frame slots.
- Thread the leading edge of the clean fleece down through the bottom tracking rods, wrap it up toward the front, and secure it to the fresh disposable waste spindle included in the box using the foam tension rings and retainers.
- Seat the waste spindle into the gear-drive socket track, lower the Klir unit back down into your sump's 4-inch sock hole, and plug your controller back into its GFCI wall outlet.
Pro Tips:
- Switch to 200-Micron Fleece During Heavy Aquarium Aquascaping Projects. If you are planning a major tank overhaul—such as stirring up an old sand bed, scraping off thick patches of coralline algae, or adding new dry rock layouts—always temporarily switch your roller over to a 200-micron roll. Heavy, dense debris clouds will clog a fine 50-micron roll almost instantly, causing the motor to advance non-stop and wasting an entire roll of media in a single afternoon. The 200-micron roll handles this heavy lifting with ease, catching large debris clusters while letting fine sand dust pass through safely.
- Always Secure the Fabric Evenly to the Spindle to Stop Roll Drift. When pulling the leading edge of your new 200-micron fleece roll onto the fresh waste collection spool, verify that the fabric is pulled perfectly straight and square before clamping down your foam tension rings. If you secure the fleece at an angle, the roll will twist and bunch up on one side as it winds. This uneven tracking creates open gaps along the side plate walls, allowing unfiltered bypass water to slide around your filter mat.
- Keep an Extra High-Flow Roll on Hand as a Backup for Fish Sitters. Because the 200-micron fleece roll handles high flow volumes easily without clogging quickly, it is the perfect "vacation insurance policy" to load into your system before traveling. Fine 50-micron rolls can clog unexpectedly if a fish sitter accidentally overfeeds your tank, which can cause sump water levels to fluctuate or trigger controller alerts. Swapping in a high-flow 200-micron roll before you leave provides extended, worry-free automatic filtration while you are away.
