Klir
Klir by CoralVue provides automatic fleece filters that replace filter socks. They automatically advance 50-micron fleece when dirty, maintaining clear water with less maintenance.
Klir 7-Inch Standard 50-Micron Replacement Filter Fleece Roll Pack
The Klir 7-Inch Standard 50-Micron Replacement Filter Fleece Roll Pack (SKU: CV-KLIR-FLC7) is an authentic high-efficiency mechanical filtration media kit distributed by CoralVue to provide exceptional water polishing and manage organic waste export in large marine reef aquariums and freshwater systems. Traditional filtration methods rely heavily on mesh filter socks that require frequent manual pulling, bleaching, and washing. If left neglected, trapped debris remains submersed in the water stream where it quickly decays—spiking internal nitrate and phosphate levels. The Klir system completely bypasses this loop by using an automated motor to roll saturated, dirty material entirely out of the water column. This replacement 50-micron fleece roll pack provides an ultra-fine parsing layout that traps particles double the capacity of ordinary 100-micron socks, delivering pristine water clarity over large, high-volume sump footprints.
Every retail package is assembled to meet exact factory tolerances, arriving as an extended multi-pack maintenance solution containing two independent 25-yard rolls. The advanced non-woven fibers handle persistent exposure to high-velocity sump water paths without stretching, micro-tearing, or bowing across the wide 7-inch span under motor tension, guaranteeing clean, error-free extraction cycles from the first inch to the end of the roll.
Key Features
Halts Dissolved Organics Safely: Pulls trapped fish waste, uneaten food flakes, and floating algae out of the water column before it breaks down, stabilizing nutrient levels.
Maintains Flawless Tracking Alignment: Designed with clean, laser-cut edges that feed straight through the internal guide wheels without fraying or binding against side plates.
Guarantees Safe Skimmer Interlocking: Made from clean, chemical-free materials that will not alter your water's surface tension or cause your protein skimmer to bubble over.
Note: This media kit includes (2) 25-yard 50-micron rolls. Complete Klir Di-7 automatic roller filter frames, 12V DC motor blocks, replacement clean spindles, and smart level sensors are sold under separate product categories.

While most of our equipment carries a one-year manufacturer's warranty, consumable products like fish and coral foods are not covered under traditional warranty terms due to their perishable nature and varied storage conditions. However, we fully stand behind the quality of every product we sell. We're committed to making it right and will work with you to resolve any problems quickly and fairly.
- Unplug your automatic fleece roller's electronic smart controller from the wall outlet to kill power and prevent the motor from turning during the media change.
- Carefully lift the entire Klir Di-7 unit straight up out of your sump's filter sock tray and lay it down flat on a clean, dry towel.
- Remove your existing waste collection spindle holding the dirty, saturated fleece roll, and pull the empty clean roll spindle out of the rear slots. Throw away the dirty roll material.
- Take one fresh spool from your CV-KLIR-FLC7 50-micron fleece pack, slide your reusable clean roll spindle through its center core, and seat the assembly back into the rear frame slots. (Store the second roll in a dry cabinet until needed).
- Thread the leading edge of the clean fleece down through the bottom tracking rods, wrap it up toward the front, and secure it to your waste collection spool using your factory foam tension rings and retainers.
- Seat the waste spindle into the gear-drive socket track, lower the Klir unit back down into your sump's 7-inch sock hole, and plug your controller back into its GFCI wall outlet.
- Never Discard Your Permanent Black Spindle Assemblies by Accident.
CRITICAL RECOVERY WARNING: The most common mistake hobbyists make when replacing a spent roll is accidentally throwing away the reusable factory clean roll spindle rod. When a 25-yard roll finishes, its empty core can sit tightly wedged around your black unpowered spindle axle. It is very easy to throw the empty core into the garbage bin without realizing the permanent factory axle is still stuck inside it. Inspect the empty roll core thoroughly before tossing it out.
- Always Thread the Fabric Squarely Across the Wide 7-Inch Span to Stop Binding. When anchoring the leading edge of your fresh 50-micron fleece roll to the waste collection spool, verify that the fabric is pulled completely straight and centered before locking your tracking rings down. Because the Di-7 chassis utilizes a wide 7-inch tracking path, even a slight angling error will multiply as the roll winds up. If it feeds crookedly, the fleece will fold over and bunch up against the acrylic side housing plates, causing a mechanical binding jam that trips controller failure alarms.
- Temporarily Switch to 200-Micron Fleece During Heavy Sump Maintenance. If you are planning a major tank overhaul—such as stirring up an old sand bed, scraping off thick patches of coralline algae, or adding new dry rock layouts—always temporarily switch your roller over to a coarse 200-micron roll. Heavy, dense debris clouds will clog a fine 50-micron roll almost instantly, causing the motor to advance non-stop and wasting media. Save your 50-micron rolls for standard daily polishing.
