Self-Adhesive Marine Food for Finicky Fish and Marine Invertebrates
Easy reefs Masstick is a self-adhesive marine food designed for finicky fish and invertebrates, addressing the common challenge of reluctant eaters in marine aquariums. This unique food format sticks to rocks, coral skeletons, or glass, providing a grazing point for fish and invertebrates to feed at their own pace. Made from 100% natural marine-origin ingredients, it is blendable with various food types and can be used immediately or frozen for up to five weeks, making it a versatile solution for marine hobbyists and professionals alike.
Key Features
- Self-adhesive rehydratable powder that sticks to aquarium surfaces for hours without dispersing
- Made from 100% natural marine-origin ingredients, primarily freeze-dried crustaceans
- Blendable with mollusk pulp, crustacean pulp, fish eggs, artemia, mysids, copepods, and rotifers
- Enables ad libitum (free-choice) or rationed feeding depending on the portion applied
- Can be used immediately or frozen for up to five weeks, allowing for batch prep
- Available in five formats: 14g, 42g, 70g, 100g, and 1000g professional
Ideal For:
- Marine hobbyists keeping finicky or difficult-to-feed species — mandarins, pipefish, seahorses, leopard wrasses, newly imported wild-caught reef fish — who need a food format that matches the fish's natural feeding behavior rather than asking the fish to compete for dispersed particles
- Reef keepers who need to administer oral medication to a marine fish and want a fixed surface delivery vehicle that a selective fish will willingly graze from
- Retail fish stores, public aquariums, and professional aquaculture facilities that maintain marine fish collections requiring consistent, reliable feeding across many tanks at scale
Pro Tips:
- Prepare Masstick in a sealed bag, not a bowl. Kneading from outside the bag keeps the mixture contained, allows thorough incorporation, and makes cleanup fast. The Easy reefs instructions specifically call for a small bag; follow this approach for consistent results.
- Place the prepared paste where the fish already spends time, not in open water. Masstick works because it stays in one place long enough for a slow or shy fish to locate it. That advantage disappears if the paste is pressed onto glass in an area the fish does not frequent. Observe where target fish hold position and place Masstick there; a specific rock face, the base of a coral, or the lower third of the glass near a preferred resting spot.
- Use the freeze method to build a ready-to-go daily supply from a single preparation session. Mix a full bag or measured portion of Masstick, portion it into daily feeding sizes in a small tray or individual sealed bags, and freeze. Each day, remove one portion and press it directly onto the target surface — no mixing, no measuring, no waiting. The five-week freeze window makes this approach practical for a full month of daily feedings from a single preparation session.
Choosing the Right Format:
Masstick comes in five formats. The formula is identical across all of them; what differs is packaging, quantity, and per-gram cost.

While most of our equipment carries a one-year manufacturer's warranty, consumable products like fish and coral foods are not covered under traditional warranty terms due to their perishable nature and varied storage conditions. Preparation:
- Measure the desired amount of Masstick powder. Use a kitchen scale for accuracy, especially when portioning from the 100g or 1000g formats.
- Add osmosis water at 0.5× the weight of the powder (e.g., 14g Masstick + 7ml water). Scale up proportionally for larger batches.
- Place both the powder and water into a small zip-lock bag.
- Seal the bag and knead from the outside until the mixture is smooth and homogeneous.
- Use immediately, or seal and freeze for later use. Use within five weeks of preparation.
Optional additions (blend into the paste before application):
Mollusk or crustacean pulp, fish eggs, artemia, mysids, copepods, rotifers, or orally-administered medicine.
Application:
- Take a portion of the prepared paste.
- Press it firmly onto a rock, coral skeleton, or aquarium glass — preferably in the lower third of the tank, close to where target fish or invertebrates spend time.
- Allow fish and invertebrates to graze from the surface. Masstick remains adhered for hours.
- Remove any uneaten portions after a few hours to prevent organic buildup.
Freeze method for daily feeding:
Prepare a larger batch, divide into individual daily portions using small bags or an ice cube tray, and freeze. Remove one portion daily; apply directly to the aquarium surface without further preparation. Use all portions within five weeks of the preparation date.
