Adhesive Food Dough for Freshwater Shrimp — Press, Stick, and Graze

Dennerle Shrimp King Yummy Gum is a food dough unlike anything else in the Shrimp King line. Rather than sinking to the substrate as a stick or granule, Yummy Gum is rolled into a pea-sized ball and pressed directly onto a stone, piece of driftwood, or the aquarium glass, where it adheres and forms a feeding station — a shrimp pasture — that all shrimp in the tank can graze from simultaneously. It can also be added directly to the aquarium without pressing if preferred. The format encourages natural grazing behavior, reduces competition at a single feeding point, and lets the keeper observe shrimp activity at the feeding site.

The formula is built entirely from 100% natural ingredients. High-quality proteins and essential amino acids support balanced growth. Spirulina algae and nettle leaves provide plant-sourced vitamins and secondary plant compounds. Natural carotenoids intensify the development of species-specific coloration. Dietary fiber and montmorillonite clay minerals support the digestive system and strengthen immune function. No artificial colors, preservatives, or fish meal are included.
Yummy Gum is suitable for all freshwater shrimp species including Neocaridina, Caridina, and larger shrimp varieties, and can be used as a supplemental food alongside a complete staple such as Shrimp King Complete.

Key Features:

  • Unique adhesive food dough format; press onto stones, roots, or aquarium glass to create a shrimp grazing pasture
  • Suitable for all freshwater shrimp species; can also be added directly to the aquarium without pressing
  • 100% natural ingredients; no artificial colors, preservatives, or fish meal
  • Natural carotenoids intensify species-specific coloration
  • Spirulina algae and nettle leaves provide plant-sourced vitamins and secondary compounds
  • Montmorillonite clay minerals support digestion and immune function
  • High-quality proteins and essential amino acids for balanced growth
  • Feeding rate: one pea-sized piece per 30-50 shrimp; always feed sparingly

Ideal For:

  • Hobbyists who want to observe natural grazing behavior by creating a fixed feeding station on the glass or hardscape
  • Tanks with larger shrimp populations where a single substrate-dropped food stick creates competition; the press-on format spreads feeding across a wider surface
  • Keepers rotating through the Shrimp King supplement line who want to add variety in food format alongside sticks and granules

Pro Tips:

  • Roll Yummy Gum into a pea-sized ball and press firmly onto a clean surface. The dough adheres best to a dry or slightly damp hard surface before being submerged. Press it onto a stone or piece of glass outside the water if possible, then place the stone in the tank. Adhesion directly through the water column is less reliable.
  • Feed sparingly — less is more with this format. One pea-sized piece for 30-50 shrimp is the maximum dose. Yummy Gum is dense and slow to consume. Overfeeding will leave residue on the glass or hardscape that can degrade water quality.
  • Remove any uneaten portions after 24 hours. Once shrimp have finished grazing the feeding station, any remaining dough should be removed. Dough left in place past 24 hours can begin to break down and cloud the water.
  • Use as a supplemental treat, not a sole diet. Yummy Gum is a supplemental food with a unique format and should be rotated alongside a nutritionally complete staple such as Shrimp King Complete rather than used as the primary daily food.

While most of our equipment carries a one-year manufacturer's warranty, consumable products like fish and coral foods are not covered under traditional warranty terms due to their perishable nature and varied storage conditions. However, we fully stand behind the quality of every product we sell. If you experience any issues with your food purchase shortly after receiving it, such as concerns about freshness, packaging integrity, or product quality, please contact us at [email protected]. We're committed to making it right and will work with you to resolve any problems quickly and fairly.

Instructions:

  1. Pinch off a pea-sized portion of Yummy Gum per 30-50 shrimp in your aquarium.
  2. Roll the portion into a ball between your fingers.
  3. Press the ball firmly onto a clean stone, piece of driftwood root, or the aquarium glass to create an adhered feeding station.
  4. Place the stone in the aquarium or, if pressing directly onto the glass, apply from inside the tank.
  5. Shrimp will locate and graze the feeding station naturally.
  6. Alternatively, drop the rolled portion directly into the aquarium without pressing if a free-floating food format is preferred.
  7. Always feed sparingly. Remove any uneaten portions after 24 hours.
  8. Do not overfeed; one pea-sized piece per 30-50 shrimp is the maximum recommended dose.
