Acrylic Lid for Dymax IQ5 Mini Aquarium
The Dymax IQ Acrylic Lid is a clear acrylic cover designed specifically for the Dymax IQ5 all-in-one mini aquariums. It sits securely on the tank rim and serves three practical functions: keeping livestock inside the tank, slowing evaporation, and protecting the tank's integrated LED lighting from water condensation and splashing.
For Betta fish tanks, a lid is not optional. Bettas are strong jumpers and will leave an uncovered tank given the opportunity, particularly when startled or stressed. For shrimp tanks, a lid reduces the water loss from evaporation that is proportionally significant in a small aquarium. In a 4.7-gallon tank, even moderate daily evaporation can cause a meaningful salinity or mineral concentration shift for shrimp that require stable water parameters. The lid reduces how often top-offs are needed and keeps the water chemistry more stable between maintenance sessions.

Pro Tips:
- Size matters: confirm the tank model before ordering. The IQ3, IQ5, and IQ7 lids are each sized specifically for their corresponding tank. They are not interchangeable. The IQ5 lid (DM-Q5LID) fits only the IQ5 tank; the IQ3 lid (DM-Q3LID) fits only the IQ3; and the IQ7 lid (DM-Q7LID) fits only the IQ7.
- Clean acrylic lids with a soft, damp cloth only. Paper towels and standard sponges can leave fine scratches on acrylic that build up over time and reduce clarity. The Dymax IQ Synthetic Cleaning Cloth is the recommended cleaning tool for all IQ series acrylic components including the lid.
- Even with a lid, keep the tank topped off regularly. The lid significantly reduces evaporation but does not eliminate it entirely. In a small aquarium, a consistent top-off routine using RO or distilled water keeps the water level and chemistry stable. A small ATO system is worth considering for shrimp tanks where parameter stability is critical.

This Standard Limited Warranty applies and is limited as follows:
- To the product only as long as it remains in the possession of the original purchaser.
- To the product that has not been subject to accident, misuse or abuse.
- To the product that has not been modified, altered, defaced, or had repairs made or attempted by other than CoralVue, Inc.
- That CoralVue be immediately notified in writing within ten (10) days of first knowledge of defect by owner or his agent.
- That CoralVue, Inc. shall be given first opportunity to make any repairs, replacements or corrections to the defective construction within a reasonable period of time.
- Under no circumstances shall CoralVue and/or the Manufacturer be liable by virtue of this warranty or otherwise for damage to any person or property whatsoever for any special, indirect, secondary or consequential damages of any nature however arising out of the use or inability to use because of the product defect.
Instructions:
Place the lid flat on the top rim of the IQ aquarium with the cutout or notch aligned with the tank's rear filter and power cord area. The lid rests securely on the rim without clips or fasteners. To remove, lift straight up from one corner. Clean with a soft damp cloth or the Dymax IQ Synthetic Cleaning Cloth only. Do not use abrasive pads, paper towels, or household cleaners on the acrylic surface.
