- Disconnect your Flipper Edge Standard internal wet module from the display glass and pull it safely out of the water column to change your blades on a dry surface.
- Slide your old, worn metal blades sideways out of the dual-slot carrier track on the scraper deck of the cleaner and discard them responsibly.
- Take a fresh stainless steel insert out of your FLP-EDGBL-SS box. Warning: The scraping edges are razor-sharp. Always handle the blades by their thick middle plastic spine to protect your fingers.
- Align the blade spine with the open side of the Edge Standard track, and push it firmly down the channel until it sits flush and perfectly centered across the carrier deck.
- If you are running a dual-blade configuration, repeat the step to slide a second blade insert into the parallel secondary track, maximizing your cleaning footprint.
- Lower the loaded wet module back into your aquarium water, re-engage the external magnetic handle, and continue your routine aquarium maintenance.

- Never, Under Any Circumstances, Use These Metal Blades on Acrylic Aquariums. These marine-grade stainless steel blades are incredibly efficient at scraping hard algae off glass, but they should only be used on glass tanks. Acrylic panels are much softer than glass, and a metal blade will cause instant, deep scratches across the plastic. Always verify that you have securely clicked the black ABS plastic Platinum CC blade inserts into place before cleaning an acrylic aquarium.
- Replace or Rotate Your Cleaning Inserts Every 3 to 6 Months.
