- Unbox all contents from the protective foam padding. Uncoil the LED power feed line and connect it temporarily to the remote receiver to test the lighting functions before final cabinet assembly.
- Locate the four pre-drilled holes running horizontally across the top border header of your mini or standard CoralVue Controller Board.
- Thread the four included steel mounting stand-off screws into those pre-drilled holes by hand, leaving the broad screw heads proud by roughly 1/8-inch.
- Locate the four inverse keyhole matching cutouts routed directly into the back-side plate panel of your IceCap LED sign banner.
- Align the sign's rear keyholes with the heads of the four installed board studs. Gently push the banner flush against the board surface and slide the entire sign downward a fraction of an inch to lock it securely onto the pins.
- Feed the main low-voltage power supply cord through your controller board's rear wire tracks. Plug the transformer brick into an empty outlet on your battery backup or power strip, and use the remote control to select your preferred background color.
Pro Tips:
- Use the Double-Sided Foam Mounting Tape for Generic Cabinet Panel Builds. If you do not own a factory pre-milled CoralVue Controller Board and are mounting the sign directly to a custom painted plywood cabinet wall or glass panel, skip the steel stand-off screws entirely. Clean the rear surface of the sign and your wall panel thoroughly with rubbing alcohol. Apply the included double-sided industrial adhesive foam mounting tape across the perimeter back border of the sign frame, align it straight with a level tool, and press it firmly against the wall for 30 seconds to lock it in place.
- Synchronize the Sign Schedule with Your Primary Reef Sump Work Light. To conserve energy and prevent unnecessary light pollution in your room during nighttime viewing hours, do not leave the sign powered up continuously. Connect the sign's power adapter into a smart plug or a programmed outlet on your primary controller block. Set its operating schedule to turn on exactly when your main cabinet sump area door is opened, or synchronize it to run on a parallel timer with your main refugium or display lights.
